I hate hot food

If you eat hot food for long enough you gradually build up a tolerance. Not so long ago a vindaloo would have had me in agony with tears streaming down my face whereas now it's a very pleasant kick.

spot on, as a teen i couldn't take kebab shop chilli or anything hotter than a masala. over time i developed a bit of a taste (definitely none of the extract stuff or anything like that) and could quite happily chow down on a vindaloo.

I tend to have quite a bit of spicy food although I don't tend to have it to spicy as that gives me an upset stomach now. I don't see the point on having something that stupidly spicy but I also hate mild curries.

I have a big jar of crushed chillies and garlic from the local oriental supermarket which gets used in many things ...

I enjoy hot food, but I can't eat much of it. I don't know why but I just can't eat much hot (spicy) food, it really burns my mouth. I do like it though :D so it's a catch 22, keep eating because it tastes nice, or stop after a few forks to get the feeling back in my mouth.

Spices are nice, add a lot to a meal.

anyone else get hiccups when they eat vindallo or really spicy food. I still really like but its like mmm so nice, hiccup :D.

my dad sweats like mad eating vindallos, hot madras's as well, but something about them... eating a mild curry such as a chicken tikka wouldn't satisfy me at all lol.

I love hot food, you need to make sure you have the right combination of ingredients to offset the spice to get the full flavour of the chilli.

Yeah I don't understand it when people order a really hot curry, for me the morning after on the toilet is simply NOT worth it, or maybe I'm more sensitive down there than most :p

I'll stick with Makhani's and Massala's, you know, stuff that you can actually taste.

Although strangely I'm totally fine with hot Mexican food, it must be the different type of chilli, I can eat a Jalapeño raw, but that stuff they put in Indian food kills me.

What is it about people always joking about hot foods leaving you on the toilet?

Its just food???? You eat whatever then go to to toilet as usual :|

I enjoy eating hot food, but there is a limit.

My favourite curry is a Madras, but i wouldnt really enjoy a Phall or Vindaloo.

A few years back at work one of the lads rigged my ham salad cob with some crazy hot sauce he'd got from a online store. I had to go the the bathroom and wash my face after touching my nose :D

I don't eat a lot of Mexican food, but i love hot fajitas.

I love hot food. I could just eat a Vindaloo.

I got Stagg Dynamite Hot chilli tonight on my jackets, when I started to have it one tin almost made my head feel like it was going to explode, my head was pounding and I couldn't see straight. That was epic.

I hated hot food when I was young bu love it know.

It is addictive and the pain it causes releases endorphins. The more you eat it, the more you tolerate it and as such need to move to hoer things to get the endorphins rush.

I love spicy food, but i hate food where being spicy is the whole point if you see what i mean. A nice keralan lamb fry, bursting with flavour but also makes you sweat is perfect, a vindaloo where all you can taste is fire just doesn't do it for me.

I'm very much addicted to hot and spicey food. Chicken Madras / Vindaloo does it for me. It has to be very spicey though or else I won't enjoy it as much. Best Indian I've had was at some restaurant up in the Lake District, I ordered my usual Madras thinking it would be mild, boy was I wrong. It tasted more like a phaal. Gave me such a rush! and the cobra beer was flowing :P

My local does one called Moricha that they warn you about before buying. It is simply amazing. Not only is it hot it actually has great depth of flavor. something I find a lot of hot currys lack.

Never had it myself, but I did give a mate a palm-blob of Blair's Sudden Death sauce, and he went straight into a hiccuping fit, screaming for milk. Was very funny.

When we went out for my work do, we went to an indian, and I had the hottest thing on the menu, the guy warend me about it but I went ahead anway as my mate said it was good, but he couldn't cope with it and onyl managed a few mouthfuls the last time he tried it, so it came, I ate it, I loved it, it was delicious. Can't remeber what it was called though, my MD dipped his naan bread into and almost cried, he downed a pint of water straight after. lol
