As title really. Currently using an original N95 on 02 PAYG.

Ive been offered a straight swap for a Vodafone PAYG 5800. Ive been assured that the 5800 is actulaly sim free despite coming in a vodafone branded box. Ive asked in our local voda store and they confirmed that the 5800 phones they were selling were unlocked despite having the vodafone software on them.

I really like my n95 even tho its scuffed. Im not convinced that touch screens are to my preferencee either after playing with my wifes LG viewty.

Can I still play all my S60 games like simcity and stuff on the 5800 without a keypad?

Id be wanting to keep my 4Gb MicroSD card as i have garmin mobile XT registered to it, so would thier 8gb card that came with the 5800 work in my N95?

So, if it was you what would you do. Stick with the N95 or swap away for the 5800?

The Viewty isn't a great introduction to touch screen phones to be honest - I struggled with one for 15 months, and the only redeeming feature was the slow motion video capture which to be honest never ever gets boring.

I'd stick with the N95.

Nope.

I've had both, and the N95 was a much better phone for me personally. I didn't think the touchscreen was good enough so I ditched it and got a Blackberry :p...

If I was you I would stick with the N95, the 5800 isn't much of an upgrade to be honest, all it has really is a touchscreen and some more memory over the N95.

Im not big on touch screens, and cant for the life of me get used to my mates 5800 :(

Im pretty sure your games wont work without the keypad, and garmin i dont think has a version for that phone either.

Could be wrong tho.

Depends:

Do you like the camera on the N95?

The camera on the 5800 is poor in comparison.

Do you like touchscreen?

If not stick with the N95.

I went from an N95 to a 5800 and apart from the camera it's a great phone, especially if you play music or films a lot.

Battery life is way better than the N95.

Only two complaints I had was I missed having a physical keyboard/numpad for typing on and the camera was crap.

An upgrade to the N95 would be the N86 - maybe try and get that? I quite enjoyed my 5800 however the camera is very poor in comparison. Comparison to LG isnt a good one as it is a terrible touchscreen.

I found texting and emailing on the 5800 an absolute nightmare due its lack of multitouch, which meant your finger had to be completely lifted off the screen before the next key press. I just couldnt get used to it and I wanted to stomp on it quite a lot.

The build quality is less than bad and if camera is important to you then this is surely not the phone for you as its poo. There also a lip around the edge of the screen that drove me nuts when trying to touch the screen at the edges.

The touch screen is also not very good imo.

On the positive the display is very good, its bright and sharp and video looks great. I found the battery life very good and web browsing surprisingly easy with opera installed.

Reception was good, the GPS locked quickly and I found some very useful apps for it.

Overall I found the minus points far outweighed the plus points and ditched it for an E71. Have not regretted it for one minute since.

I found the touchscreen was better than most others, for me anyway.

Build quality isn't bad but as with a lot of new nokias it looks cheap.

But I now have an E71 also and I haven't regretted switching either :p

I actually find the 5800 touch screen great for texting, especially in landscape full qwerty mode.

Multi touch doesn't bother me in the slightest as I have never used it in the past.

Build quality is not the best I'll agree there.

Camera has improved with the latest firmware.

Touch screen IMHO is just fine, does what it is supposed to do.
