Hi All

I've been having a few problems running Crysis on my PC. It's a new i7 build with 6Gb Corsair dominator RAM and an XFX ATI 4870x2.

I've been running the graphics card on manual so I can dictate the fan speed. I set the speed to around 40 - 45% so to keep the card cool when playing. On Crysis, I simply could not get it working correctly. There just seemed to be random polygons all over the screen and made playing virtually impossible - No matter what the game settings were...

Anyway, I reset Crysis one back from high detail (is that Gamer?)... Still got the problem... I reset Catalyst so the card controls everything, including the fan speed, and voila!... Works perfectly...

Anyone had this happen to them? - I'm a tad worried as the card now goes up to 90 degrees!...

Had exactly the same problem with setting fan speeds manually on my Asus 4870 x2, just gave up in the end and let it handle the fan speeds itself and it was fine also.

90c is fine for a graphics card btw, they are a lot more heat tolerant than cpu's.

the only time I had a problem with the Catalyst on the same card was when I set the custom AA past 4x lol...other than that never had an issue...but I'm on liquid cooling now so all is good :D
