Will You Buy Windows 7???

Windows 7 still using as Vista kernel but just some change in features, remove some of it but nothing else as new. So I keep Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 just until until next Windows OS due by 2011/2012

I dont see any difference between W7 and Vista...

Tbh there aren't any killer features in Vista or W7 that personally I need over XP. But W7 feel vastly faster than Vista. Which is the main reason to swtich to it from Vista.

Will probably preorder the Professional for £99, the addition of XP compatability mode makes me feel secure about leaving XP behind.

I'll certainly try if any of the UK (pre-order) retailers are willing to ship to Finland since we have no pre-order whatsoever here. Probably 3 copies of Home Premium or maybe 1x Pro for me and my brother and a friend of mine. Should that fail, I'll certainly look forward to torrenting a shady version of a Windows once again :)

Just wondering if XP mode and RDP is worth it, probably not for me. Should I ever need RDP, there's other software to do that anyway.. (other software, that might actually let me choose the port to use unlike Windows RDP).

why buy when you can download..

and if everyone did that there would be no windows7.

It's about eh cheapest computer part/software you will ever buy.
3 years for £50. even at £150 thats a quality cheap product. Just think of what an Os actually is and how much you use it.

It's a lot more smaller things that make up the overall product that is 7. DX11 for starters so if you're a gamer then you won't get DX11 on Vista. Better GPU utilisation in the OS itself, better memory management too so both combined make 7 feel smoother and faster.

DX11 has already been confirmed for Vista.
Microsoft's Ben Basaric just told us that Windows 7 will, contrary to the rather vague statement a few days ago, be delivered with DirectX 11. Furthermore DX11 will also come for Windows Vista although Microsoft wouldn't confirm, if this will coincide with the release of Service Pack 2 for Vista.

Being part of the otherside, this is the first OS apart from OEM that I will be paying for. These days you just dont know what has been added to the torrented copies

Back on topic. Yes I have bought two copies of Windows 7!

EDIT: Something to do with people exchanging the places via email which is against forum rules.
