Andrew Flintoff to retire from test cricket at the end of the summer...

He's not an amazing batsman but a very talented bowler. His bowling figures will never do him justice in the test arena - he's the type of bowler who gets wickets for other bowlers and big wickets at key moments of the game, something statistics don't really reflect.

Even if his batting wasn't that good, he'd still walk into any test side today (fully fit!)
 
Not surprising given the state of his injuries etc - why ruin the rest of your career by slogging out 5-day matches on flat pitches, when you can enjoy yourself playing one-days and Twenty20 matches, earning a nice bit of cash, and playing with a bit of freedom.
