Title says it all really, i'm looking for some in ear earphones for around £20. The ones i'm looking at now are Sony MDREX85LPB, anyone used them or any other better suggestions guys? Perquisites are i'd like them to be as durable as possible and ideally drown out background noise.

The EX-85's? They are a brilliant set of phones for £20. I own a white pair and the music is crisp and clear. Not the greatest at drowning out noise but it does significantly muffle screaming children as was my situation on the bus earlier. Be careful though there are a lot of fakes going cheaply.

Aye sorry the retailer i was looking at gave it the huge product code above, they are indeed the EX-85's, will go ahead with them then cheers for the input!

I'll just go ahead and suggest the Senheiser CX300 II's. I bought them a few weeks ago to replace my aging EX85's oddly enough.

They are awesome headphones at any volume, brilliant quality and incredibly comfortable. They are better than the Sonys at high volume and the bass is a bit more powerful which is perfect for me and my obsession with Techno and EBM, also they are more comfortable and are MUCH less noticeable, the Sony's are annoying in that they stick out quite a bit.

The Sony's are durable, but the ear plugs come off a bit too easily for my liking (came off in my ears a few times when I took them out), the Senny's however a bit more secure, they also have a more durable cord.

Now I just need to wait for my Penquin Amp to arive and my life will be complete.

lol, looks like i've changed my mind and gone for the CX300 II, they ended up being a fiver cheaper and reviews were near identical between them and the EX-85s so it became a no brainer.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Good choice, enjoy.

Quick update, the CX300 II's are simply amazing, even comparable to my full sized earphones which is something i never even thought to expect. Thanks for the recommendations guys, tbh even if the Sony ones are half as good as these are they're still an absolute bargain.

One of the best purchases of the year tbh, sad i know :p
