Will you take the Swine Flu Jab?

Work in the NHS and will probably be one of the first to be given the jab, going to be honest, not happy about it as it sounds like it's being rushed and not properly tested. Not sure I'm able to opt-out though, yet if there's side effects etc it'll be me that suffers those potentially long-term due to the lack of clinical trails.

Don't be dim. It's a flu vaccine. It's made in exactly the same way as the flu vaccines that have been given to millions of people for at least the last decade.

Not properly tested? Give me a break

Ideally, the best you can hope for is to take the rest of the week off yourself :p

I'll work from home or another office after today I think. I'm seeking guidance from a team that has been specifically set up for this type of question.

My main problem stems from the fact that they won't do blood tests on people showing symptoms because there's too many of them, so they don't know who has swine and who doesn't.

It hasnt been properly tested actually, its been rushed through. Whether or not there are any bad side effects as a result of the jab wont be fully known.

How do you know the doctor didn't report it after she left?

Also if someone was to die, swine flu would have been picked up during tests to find out the reason why he/she died. This of course would be reported.

She wasnt tested for Swine flu, so obviously it couldnt have been confirmed so he couldnt report it as swine flu.
Of course if someone were to die they'd be tested for reasons - you've completely missed my point. Im saying there are most likely a large number of unreported cases, thus distorting the stats.

What magically occuring side effects are you expecting? Does H1N1 have some kind of superpower making it's vaccine fundamentally different from all the other flu vaccines prepared for the last decade?

i was updated about the 3 year old next door. apparntly she spent all night in hospital (Latin) so maybe she does have swine flu afterall :(. Should i be worried :D she came over fro lunch with her mum the other day haha.

Interesting, lunch time news is saying the infection could be many times high But that a lot of people are only having mild symptoms like a cold rather than the flu.

Seriously? You should go live in the garden if you want to survive.

Haven't decided if I would get the jab or not. Probably yes, based on previous experiences of having proper flu. Its hell.

He's gone to visit his girlfriend who also has it. He rang the NHS Helpline thing so he should be okay.

I have no idea, but at the same time I'm also the only person responsible for my own health - so frankly I'm not convinced I want to take the risk on something that is very poorly tested prior to being mass produced and injected into every health professional in the UK.

Did I say I was 'expecting' anything or are you just completely jumping to the conclusion that I did?
All Ill say is - 1977.. Im not saying it will happen, Im saying the standard testing has been skipped, thats all.
