Will You Buy Windows 7???

Thats just crap tbh, so windows has IE, WMP and MediaCenter built in.
Has that stoped me from installing Firefox, MPC or MediaPortal, NO.
There is NOTHING stopping anyone from using a 3rd party browser if they WANT too.
God im so sick of having all this EU sudo PC BS shoved down my throat on a daily basis

lol - of course there is nothing stopping you, but you (or folk in general) are less likely to if they are handed a browser by default.

Regards to the comment of Firefox charging - they'd be free to try but IE will still be available to download for free so it's unlikely to happen!

I've just seen prices of even a decent speed 64GB drive.

STUFF THAT.

I'll wait until fast SSD drives are as cheap as HDDs then just ghost my install over. Most sensible decision I would say.

Tempted to buy another Pro version for eBay in a few weeks :p

Someone posted a link in the old thread to a quite detailed chart of the differences twixt the different versions - more detail than was available in the standard MS one.

Can anyone remember the link?

Think that was my link from yesterday:

By the way, retail copies come with both 32-bit and 64-bit media included. It was confirmed on the Windows blog the other day:

How do I get a 64-bit copy of Windows 7?

The Upgrade and Full packaged retail product of Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows 7 Ultimate will come with both 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs. With Windows Vista, the 64-bit version was only available with Windows Vista Ultimate. Due to the incredible adoption of 64-bit today and customer feedback, we decided to change this for Windows 7. Now all copies of Windows 7 in developed markets will ship with both 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs.

you will be waiting a long time a 500gig SSD drive is not gonna be coming down inline with SATA prices for years! i reckon. 64gig ones have come down in price a lot. SSD drives will continue to drop, but the larger ones will always cost a lot more that SATA

Tempting for the very cheap price but then I remember how much I hated the RC and I wonder what the point of buying it would really be.

What's all this about SSD - doesn't Windows 7 run on HDDs or what?

SSD uses SATA ;)

/pedant

it runs fine on HDDs but SSD is a lot faster and win7 works well with it, lost of people are installing on a SSD for os and apps then using HDD for data
Yeah I know, I do that myself but a lot of people seem to be mentioning it specifically WRT Windows 7 for some reason.
