who to choose guys?

so far i know of bt and just been told of the post office(who dont have a minimum term contract.)

anyone else u guys can think of?

the plan is to get the sky talk and broadband or possibly telephone and internet from orange as its cheap.

what are your thoughts?

sorry i mean other people who will do the bt line for you( if any). i was told by a orange rep that if i took out the post office i could then migrate straight to orange.

Just a heads up mate but i was reading a post on a well known money saving forum yesterday regarding free BT line installation until end of september if its for a reconnection or new line.

The downside is signing up for an 18 month contract but here is the info pasted directly:

This isn't available online; to get it you need to ring 0800 800 150, lines are open Monday to Friday 8am to 9pm, Saturday 8am to 8pm, Sunday 9am to 6pm. When you call, ask for the 'New line free connection offer'.

When BT ran a previous similar offer, there were some reports of people having difficulty getting the deal. BT has assured us the call centre is well briefed so there should be no problems this time.

You won't have to pay anything up front, it'll simply appear on your bill as a charge then a credit. If you do try and cancel your agreement before the 18 months is up, you'll have to pay the remainder of the contract.

i've signed up for this, although i can still cancel. its all good apart from you have to make at least 10 calls a month or you get charged.

i only want the line for Broadband. thinking is the hassle of calling my mum (or other landline) 10 times in a row every month worth £122.50, argh

i'm considering paying the connection charge now :(

Speak to Sky.
I know they have susbsidised install fee's before if you take a full package from them.
You might not want the etrxas but its £125 (last check) better spent on something otehr than a telephone line install xD

Just call em up let em know you want a full package and want your lin to be with them and see what they say.

AFAIK if you're just changing account (from a previous occupier) on a pre-existing phone line you shouldn't have to pay an installation fee?

If theres no sky then sky come and fit a bt line (or organise a bt open reach engineer to come out liek they did for us)
Getting out line with sky makes the net cheaper. Pitty Sky messed up at the start thinking we had a landline in our flat (they got the wrong people as we are in the basement flat)

Everything is working great now after the initial hickup. They refunded me £20 for the cockups which was nice (after a couple of letters to the Sky CEO) Better than Virgin media anyway - trying to make us pay for a new set top box because we were given old hardware by someone working for Virgin
