New Sky HD EPG

i dont no how sky works out who to send the new cards out to who first, just give it a week or two. samsung are next to get the new epg, people with samsung boxes should/will get a letter very soon.

Blind luck I think. Last time they changed them I had to jump up and down and demand they send one because the previous card kept popping up messages asking for the new one. This time I got the new card before I knew they were replacing them....
 
a few weeks ago after they finished with the pace models sky has for some reason stoped rolling out the new epg, i have no idear why. but when they start rolling out the new epg agian the samsung's will be the next brand.

Mine becomes sluggish at times, like pushing the green button for Planner and it not responding or pushing it a few times and it takes a second to recognise thus taking me to favourites back to planner then favourites again.

This is on a Pace.
 
No sign of the new viewing cards here.

Got my viewing card a few weeks ago. New Pace with new epg, don't notice any difference though, not that I was expecting any :)

Hopefully so they can sort out the bugs that people are reporting.
 
Sky has told me that the rollout of its new electronic programme guide software for Sky+ HD boxes is on schedule but additional and planned development work is taking place before it is sent to customers with Samsung and Amstrad boxes. (this was last week)
 
My Amstrad box is being replaced next Friday because of the fixed contrast issue & generally poor SD & HD performance in comparison to my old Thomson box (which died a death). Hopefully I'll get a new Pace with the new EPG :)

It's due to be released after the rollout of the other boxes.

A post by davehonwheels (2 up from your post) goes on to explain it's delayed for the Samsung and Amstrad boxes according to his chat with Sky.
 
i've received my new viewing card etc and i'm on a PACE HD box (don't know version number as am at work) but seeing as the PACE boxes EPG was rolled out in May, could i force update mine now incase i missed it?

to do the update do i do the following?

Switch off the receiver at the mains wall socket. Press and hold the front panel "backup" button and switch the mains power back on. Continue to hold the button for 20 seconds or until the LEDs all light (depends on the make/model). As soon as this happens, you'll see a message on the screen (only if you have connected via the TV Scart). Leave the receiver for at least 15 minutes to download the software via satellite.

I have to be honest in that apart from the Mini TV stream in the corner I am not a huge fan of the UI of this new update.

Sort of preferred the ease of the old way and being able to see whats on with more channels at a time. Tried to get used to it but both me and my partner sort of wish we still had the old EPG.

Still, I guess everything needs to change at some stage. Just thought Sky could have perhaps done a littler more to make it a bit less clunky.

One thing I have noticed is more failed recordings since we had the update. Not been keeping track but roughly 1 in every 6/7 recordings fails. Kinda sucks :( lol
 
well i've done the force update and now have the new EPG.

It's very easy to manover around and the layout is very good.

I will say the sound is now a lot quieter and also i believe the standard def isn't as clear anymore. HD is still sharpwe though.

i'm pleased with the update but i think it still needs improving for the sound and standard definition picture quality

Are these instructions I saw above what I should be doing to receive this new EPG?
