Drogba and Bosingwa bans reduced

Stinks.

And to think we had a player miss the CL final and Evra miss god knows how many games and the fact we didn't appeal Vidic's red in case it got extended :/

Disgraceful.

Disgraceful indeed.

Uefa have no balls.

The ban's and fine's were a complete joke in the first place, reducing is pathetic.

I'm assuming the ref's performance would have had something to do with the decision.

I'm not condoning Drogba's behavior but I can understand why Bosingwa called the ref a thief

The ref turned down one or two penalty decisions, Chelsea fan's are the only people who think they were "robbed". The Ref, made a big mistake with sending a Barcelona player off as well.

Uefa, needed to come down hard on this, I was in all honesty expecting a much stiffer punishment. You can't really call this a punishment, missing 2/3 games which aren't even at the knock out phase, and fining them spare change.

Must refrain from going MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD

:o

Really can't be arsed to get into it, Abidal should have been sent off after 20 minuets for his trip/tug on Drogba so he should count himself lucky he was on the pitch for 65 minuets. Regardless of Drogba going down easy (which imo he didn't) he was tripped and did have his shirt tugged. End of

If Barca had gone down to 10 men after 25 mins and have conceded a penalty (which lamps would have most probably converted) I'm pretty confident Chelsea would have gone through. (1-0 up at home against 10 men).

Chelsea fan's are the only people who think they were "robbed".

Wow...

The whole footballing world could see Chelsea were robbed. I don't 'think' we were, I know we were. Even those who have a strong dislike for Chelsea were willing to admit it (which is the majority)

As I said, I really cba to get into it. I listed and justified my argument for every penalty decision in the CL thread and my opinion can be found there.

I'll just agree to disagree.

That's funny, I'm pretty sure there were a lot of other fans thinking we were robbed too. It was a disgrace, and everyone knew it.

Tummy is probably the most biased anti-chelsea fan you could ever meet ;) :D

I can understand why tbh but it's funny at times :p

UEFA: You have been very naughty! Here is your PUNISHMEEENNNTTT!!
Chelsea: Woah, bit harsh isn't it?
UEFA: Is it? Oh, sorry, erm there you go. All nice again. Have a good day.

Regardless of what performance the ref put in, their actions were despicible and I firmly believe the punishment was too lenient in the first place, so to reduce it is quite frankly unbelievable.

Agreed; the punishments should be based on the principles surrounding conduct towards the referee, and the specific 'performance' of the official in question should not come into play when making these decisions.

As a sidenote, the posts that start with the line that none of what transpired should be condoned, but then go onto blast the referee and play Drogba's little Ivorian violin for him, muddy their intial point more than slightly.

You can say my name. I won't hurt, honest. Let me make it a little bit easier for you.

Drogba's behaviour was unprofessional and I don't condone it. Regardless of this the referee had an awful game and his performance was woeful.

play Drogba's little Ivorian violin for him,

What? Not once have I defended him.

I was talking with regards to a blatant penalty that involved him. There's an obvious distinction between that and his antics at the end of the match.

Well then you can't critisise the punishment. Anything against the ref is a completely different matter.

Yes, and as a result both the referee and the offending players should be punished, but both should be treated on their own merit and individually.

It's not Drogba's, Bosingwa's, or Chelsea's place to criticise or belittle. They should have taken it on the chin, left the field, and put forward their complaint behind closed doors.

Not launched into a foul tirade live on national TV.

It's UEFA's job to deal with poor refereeing performances, so let them.

I mean come on, what message does this send? It's okay to surround/harass/attack the ref as long as you're right?

That is ridiculous! They should have been banned for longer. Rio Ferdinand got an 8 month ban for missing a drugs test which he took 2 days later. Drugs dont leave your system in 2 days so he was clean when he should have taken it. Seems a little odd that you get 8 months for something trivial and then you get a short ban reduced after abusing a referee.

Absolutely mindboggling.

I'm not criticizing the punishment? Drogba should be banned for 3 games at least.

All i said is that the referee's performance probably had an influence on UEFA's decision (not mine) and were therefore more lenient.
