Nice I'll be checking this out tonight. I just hope I can get into it, the position of the character is too far to the left so you can't properly see to the left, why on earth did this new trend start up, I used to enjoy res evil games and enjoy 3rd person games, over the shoulder no problem but character shoved into the far left I don't know, I know most seem to have taken to this idea with dead space but I can't get used to it at all, I just hope they make alternative views for playing then I may like this game.

hmm, seem to be having issues with it on my setup. Not sure it is liking the x2, so either Capcom need to look at that or ATi need to optimise their drivers.

I get well over 100 fps average in the first part but then it runs second part at around 50 and drops to 20 for the last two. DX9 performance seems a lot better than DX10. DX10 also has nasty flicker textures in a lot of places and I'm not convinced all the post and effects are right, as the DX9 version seems to look better in places.

Disabling Cat AI seems to improve things a lot but still looks like some work needs to be done.

Hope they can though as it looks great and seems to run good when it does. RE4 on the GC was also one of my fav games at the time so have really been looking forward to this coming out on the PC.

Anyone else with an x2 (50 or 70) tried it yet? Hoping it's the game/drivers and not something wrong with my set up.

I have the exact same problem.

a lot of people are saying that ATI's are having problems with DX10 + AA atm, probably some driver thing.

Yep, tis only a DX10 issue, just ran it on DX9 mode and it was perfect. Averaged 53fps maxed out on my modest rig. No real point for DX10 unless you really have the frames to spare though, I couldn't tell the difference at all between the two.

Anybody else worried about M/KB support? If you go into settings in the launcher there's an option for gamepad settings but not M/KB settings. I think the game could be fantastic with M/KB if they really upped the aggression of the enemies. Currently it just looks like they stand around waiting until you look at them before attacking you. If they let you use M/KB it would let them take the AI difficulty up a few notches to let enemies take the initiative because then you'd actually have enough control over your aim to shoot them before being overwhelmed.

3D Stereo Benchmark - does this mean it is only compatible with a 3d vision setup?

It'll run on anything, don't worry :) You don't need the setup.

Using the pc in my sig.
Everything maxed, no AA, DX9, 1680x1050 32-bit. I get 59.8fps.
^ But with 4xAA. 49.1fps
^ With 8xAA. 41.6fps
^ With C16xAA. 42.5fps (??)

Lowest everything lol. 129fps :D

Yeah ironically it was the likes of Resident Evil 4 that influenced Dead Space and especially Gears of War in terms of this over-the-shoulder, too far to the left viewpoint.

this game deffinitly i7 friendly i got 64 frames per second on my rig 1680-1050, dx10 max settings and max aa. very similar average fps on both benchmarks. grats to capcom for making some good pc ports, other developers should follow there example.

edit: droped the aa down to 4x as any morre doesnt make any difference and i got 90.5 fps! this will probably be what i play at as i did not drop below 60 at any point. i will vsync ad lock the fps at 60

looking good. some of those textures look out of place though - very low res some of them. hopefully that'll be sorted for release :)
Capcom won't thats the low res textures they use for some background objects because they employ a blur DOF filter it always looks poor when the DOF FX are off but obviously when they kick in you never notice it. SF4, DMC4,Lost Planet all have the exact same issues with most textures.
