I'm over near Hemel Hempstead and can hear it from here - One clap went on for well over 20 seconds.... Scary stuff!!...

I'm in Aylesbury. We just had a big flash of lightning followed by an ominous rumble.... and that was it.

Yeah im back down in St Albans and its been thundering away a little bit (raining like mad too!)

Would like to be back up in buckinghamshire though, down here doesnt feel like home

Serious question, if you were hit by a lightning bolt, won't it deafen you? It's heard for miles around. In fact, the hot air in front of it knocks you unconscious, this is basically the sound itself so I don't know how it could not burst eardrums too? Air velocity as opposed to air pressure or something?
