no way in hell that will happen

but boy if it does

gamers on all platforms will be outraged

they wont let them get away with it

good luck selling 11 milliion in the first month

Something tells me it will still sell. Just look at Cod:MW, still retailing for £40 in most places and its still selling.

well if it does happen thank god for *cough* reloaded.... now where did i leave that razor...

I think this might be what COD2 was to COD. Little in the way of changing things but fine tuning the game play. COD2 wasn't that well received but I think over time it was better than COD.

COD is all about the multiplayer. Good luck playing online with a pirated version.

+1, my advise: never pirate a cool mp game.

You can, just on cracked servers. I remember Rob Bowling throwing a hissy fit just after the first game was released about the number of people playing on cracked servers. Unfortunately he neglected to address the pricing issue attatched to the game and I can't help but think people would have continued to pirate just to get back at him, IW and Activision.

I never bought Modern Warfare and ended up borrowing it from a friend (really!). Honestly, it was a good game but I didn't think it was worthy of the £35 they were charging for it in high street stores or the £30 I could often find it for online. If MW2 is going to retail for more then I will definetly not be buying it, even if it is the "definitive shooting experience" people are already claiming it to be.

The game doesn't really suffer on cracked versions either. Due to the rules on this forum I can't talk about it in detail but from my experience and the experiences of people I know, cracked versions often play just as well as the real thing.

^^^^ opens the can the worms have come out :D

I think the worms started crawling out once the two comments I quoted were posted. Besides, I don't want this to turn in to a discussion of piracy. I just wanted to point out that multiplayer is not affected by piracy and that the pricing will most likely lead to increased volumes of it.

I still play Modern Warfare online now and again, 18 months after it's release. Not sure how many hours I've lost to it, but it's been a fair amount. £40 for 18 months of entertainment is a bargain IMO.
