Star Wars: The Old Republic NEW VIDEO!!!!!!!!!

im impressed by the whole voice acting thing, but the gameplay and game in general looks very bland. in a mmo i like to work towards something, for example gear, doesnt look like you change how your character looks for the whole game, looks like CoH where you make a character and already look awesome at level 1, just doesnt appeal to me.

Asides from that, looks ok.

They have tons of concept art work for different outfits/weapons already.

Clothing changes when you level just like different armour sets

It does look like it will be a winner.

However
:/ They have messed up big time on the animation really badly. That part is so blazingly obvious it's shocking. I hope the game footage shown is some early alpha test.

Rookie things like walk cycles and lip sync are just inexcusable to get wrong. The video shows feet sliding around the ground, and mouths moving with no relation to the words being spoken.

To be honest, WoW has a lot of sliding when doing moves and doesn't even have lip sync.

We've brought the situation with MMOs on ourselves.. well not us.. but the wider audience.

What do game companies want to do.. sell loads of games and make $$$.

Whats does the general gaming WoW public have? Slow PCs.

So what will the future of MMO games continue to use? Basic animations and graphics that will work on millions of PCs. We shouldnt be surprised to see that this is no different.

Although the voices for every character is insane.. thats a whole lot of data..

Massive open world maps is better than small zones that need to be loaded every time you change zone.

The tech is just not there atm no matter what anybody says.

The proof is games that have gone past EQ2/AOC and so on.

To me the voice overs didn't match the look of the characters very well. Tbh im not into the whole voice overs thing. Not once when playing SWG did i think, dam why wont that NPC talk to me. They gave their chat through text which then allows you to give the NPC their own character which is personalised to you.

Looks awful, I'm not falling for it.
That voice acting seems a gimmick, that'll produce plenty of "Wouldn't you know." inidents.
Usually a sure sigh of a fail when a company starts focusing on a "Unique/new" aspect of a game.
Poor, poor, poor.
I bet this sucks. :D B.t.w. What do us Brits say instead of suck anymore; or have we adopted that saying for good now?
