I was talking to a friend who was complaining about doctors being over paid and I was wondering if this is the general feeling.
After finishing 5/6 years of medical school this is what a doctor will make:
F1 (first year) Doctor £21,862 (excusing any supplements for unsociable hours)
F2 (second year) Doctor £25 000 to £30 000 (excusing any supplements for unsociable hours)
After the first 2 years a doctor can expect to earn 30 to 50k until when reaching consultant level the pay jumps to 70 to 100k.
A salaried GP will make 50 to 70k and a Partner running his own practice can make anything from 70 to 150k depending on the size of his practice and the quality of care given.
