''the power consumption is not as bad as I expected it to be. Again, the card according to NVIDIA has a TDP of roughly 289 Watts.''

'' * System in IDLE = 226 Watt
* System with GPU in FULL Stress = 416 Watt

GeForce GTX 295 Quad SLI

* A second GeForce GTX 295 requires you to add another 300 Watts. You need a 1000 Watt power supply unit if you use it in a high-end system. That power supply needs to have (in total accumulated) at least 70 Amps available on the 12 volts rails.

I think your current PSU would run them but might start to struggle and definetly be nearing its limits.

I would have thought your current PSU would be up to the job, it has 72amps on the 12v rails doesn't it??

Give it a go, and if you find you don't have enough power, then sell on your Tagan and buy a decent quality 1000w PSU....

Ideally I'd recommend a 1000W+ PSU. But I think the 900W Tagan should manage, as your CPU is pretty light on power usage.

the higest ive seen mine draw, before ocing the graphics cards was 906w, adn after was around 960w. Bear in mind that this is draw from the wall, and im running a lot of stuff on this PC. the stuff in sig + 6 cathodes, triple led light, 4 leds, 5 120mm fans, 2 92mm fans, corsair domintor triple fan thing, fan on my hdd cage, 2 asus moo fans, usb 2.5" hdd, two fan controllers, 2 dvd drives.
