Does anyone know.

Since getting my Jasper arcade last week I have done the licence transfer so all my DLC works on it (premium launch model RROD so had to buy a jasper) but now I want to transfer my gamesaves which were all on the HD. Some are valuable to me as they contain 100's of hours worth of gameplay which I do not want to lose

Is it just a case of moving them in the dashboard memory section from the HD to MTU??

TIA

Yes that's all you need to do although there are a tiny handful of games that will not let you move the saves from one device to another.

Thanks man. Do you know how I can find which saves are not moveable??

I'm not sure to be honest, I have a feeling Forza 2 might be one of them. I guess all you can do is move your saves and see if any throw a wobbly when you try :p

This is the same process which all the top achievement whores do, they swap around all there game saved to eachother and get a massive gamerscore..

Which is nothing like the same as backing a save up to memory card. Save glitching is completely different.

Games that I've discovered won't back up so far are Rockband and Forza 2.

I wish they would make it so you can back up career saves in all games.

I back all my saves up on a 512mb card especially after each gaming session on a new game. Nothing more irritating than having a save get lost of glitched. Its also good for getting to a game of choices where you get an achieve depending on what you do. You can unlock both then.

Yeah thanks I found a list (cannot find it now though!!) online Forza2 is not moveable for all data but I do not have it anyways. There are only about 7 games some obscure which you cannot move all data on so I should be ok.

There is a way to do it,

A guy told me that if you shove a data cable into your xbox's HDD then connect it to your PC it should come up on the computer screen.

Did you swap your cow for some magic beans at the same time?

The OP and the entire rest of the thread is nothing to do with modifying save files on a computer. What are you on about?

What are you on about?

you dont have to MOD anything to be an achievement whore, its all to do with the Save game files which people saved right before they get the achievement. You simply transfer it over to your machine and you do something really small to get the achievement. you dont have to mod to do that boy.

James i suggest you leave it, Reason being a) that post comes accross as being an arse b) this guy isnt doing what your accusing him off its a simple question

So no need to be all high horse about it also even if he was MS would eventually work it out.

Regarding the original post yes you can just transfer them to a MU thats what i did when i bought a new HDD to keep my saves i moved them to my MU then onto the HDD also so i have backups incase it goes boom

Im sure I managed to move my Forza 2 profile to my Memory stick, though I could copy it onto it.

So dismantling your xbox hard drive and connecting it to your PC and then editing the structure and layout of a file isn't a modification then? I'm pretty sure it voids your warranty, and goes against the EULA. Unless of course you own a Xbox dev kit in which case it's pretty easy...

If by do something really small you just mean copy the file into the directory of another user, you'd be **** out of luck, the save files are linked to profiles from within as well.

I really haven't got the time of day for you mate. You're clearly talking out your rear based on information based on what a friend of a friend wrote on a napkin for you, and have no idea about the file structure or methods the Xbox uses for saving games.

All I am looking to do is move the gamesaves from my 120GB HD to the internal MTU to tidy up and its slightly quicker loading from MTU. I bought a Japser arcade last week and used the licence transfer tool to transfer DLC licences but did not want to move the gamesaves incase they stopped working as they contain many hours worth of gaming since 2006!!!!. Not looking to glitch earn any achievements!!!

You're wrong but I can't be bothered wasting my breath (figuratively speaking) to correct you.
