512 or 1GB?
 
The XXX Edition above is a 4890 not 4850 - which would be faster than the 250GTS.

If your talking about the 4850 below that then I'd say performance wise they are pretty close - swings and round abouts - but the cooler on the 4850 looks like its the quieter running one.

Benchmarks disagree.

The 250GTS is the faster of the 2 cards - but only by a small margin they are pretty much tied in most cases with the odd game one is a bit faster than the other - but the 250GTS has slightly better overall performance.
