I'm trying to attach a P180 case to a Creative Sound Card

You mean to the front panel audio plugs, or just fitting it in the case?

I do mean the front panel . I wanted to use headphones seems a pain to plug in round the back and also I've the speakers etc. plugged in.

What would you advise ?

Grab a 3.5mm splitter, I use one in the back to keep cables tidy and simply turn my speakers off when I want to use headphones.

You should be able to find the splitter somewhere .

Alternatively, there are a couple of other ways.......

1. A lot of speakers come with a separate volume control, usually, this has a headphons/mic port on it. (If you have some decent speakers already, this is useless info )

2. If set up correctly, you can actually have speakers and headphones plugged into the X-Fi permanently. Alternate between the 2 by setting up then switching "modes".

I have my speakers, and my mic/headset plugged in all the time. I switch between them by simply changing modes.

If you have 7.1 speakers though, option 2 is a non starter.

Creative do an i/o "drive" that sits in a 5.25in drive bay that has all the audio connectors you should need. Unfortunately I don't know if they sell them seperately or if all their soundcards have a connection for it.
