Hey,

I haven't seen a thread like this, but then I can't find a searchbar  If I missing it completly, then please say :D

I have an Antec 300 case, for about a week or so. The top fan is broken, and looking for a replacement there are barely any 140mm fans. Is there a bracket that can allow a 120mm fan fit a 140mm slot?

Scythe Kaze Maru 140mm Fan

From what I can see, this is the only 140mm fan that OCUK stocks, although at 61CFM and 26dB(A) then it seems like a more than capable exhaust fan.

Also, if the 300 is only a week old, couldn't you return it as faulty goods?

EDIT: From reading the review on the fan, it looks like it's a 140mm fan that uses 120mm mounting holes, could still be worth a try though.

If you can get the company whom sold you the case to offer you a deal, say do you take the case back to get fixed, labor costs etc to them will be a lot, Or say to them give me a replacement fan and call it even ! which off corse you will put in yourself ! ...

Yeah, I contacted Ovcerclockers just, waiting responce from them.

It was a bit daft of me to think that they'd want me to ship the whole case back...

I'll see how it goes, and if it doesn't I'll carry on my search :)

I had the exact same problem myself before, your best bet would be to contact antec direct, and to do an rma for the fan, they sent me out a new one within days of contacting them. That is if OC can't sort it for you.

I also contacted them by email, but some reason, i cannot find the reciept with the Antec case listed from ocuk! :(

ah i see, well if for whatever reason you can't get it replaced, which im sure you will be able to google for this..

"Xigmatek 140mm XLF-F1453" A very nice and queit 140mm fan, not the cheapest but they are good.

my mate replaced the 140mm fan in his with a 140mm any 140 should work he got a white antec one with blue blades its nearly silent and runs his pc pretty cool and silent you cant hear if its on or off other than his 4780 screeming every now and then! lol

Thanks for the replies guys. For some reason I didn't get an email to tell me you'd replied.

I contacted OC, and they told me to send the case back. I can't do so, I have nowhere to store the parts and it's just not do-able.

I contacted Antec just though, hopefully they'll get me a replacement.

Phone them up, their webnote system isn't always that good. After a moments thought they should agree to swap the fans over, as this costs them less money in postage and makes the customer happy

This is what I though. I mean, they say if a products not faulty they charge £10. And a 140mm fan would probaly cost less anyway.

I've contatced Antec now, so I'll see how that goes.

Was just about to say contact antec, I personaly in life never ever try to go thru the point of purchase its better to go to the manufacturer directly themselves and get a direct fix + am a bloke :D
