My new pen

So can we have a side by side £125 pen Vs Bic biro? Write something with both pens and scan it. A bit like the pepsi challenge, but with pens. A pen challenge.

I don't know why many are so surprised. My Mont Blanc Meiserstuck was £195 and it's the most glorious pen to use. It's perfectly weighted and the ink is great. I use my pen a lot and every day so I thought why not. I imagine the vast majority who question it's effectiveness have never used such a pen.

Ok everyone, let's laugh at this mug instead!

Go ahead! :) It's all relative what I spend to what I earn, so if I earn enough why shouldn't I spend it on luxury items? I don't by computer components so don't waste money pointlessly upgrading and most of my hobbies are funded by my job. It's horses for course as I'm sure I laugh (and often do) at what others spend their money on, here, I just very rarely vocalise it.

The same goes for fountain pens, quality of flow, smoothness of drag, balanced weight etc. Harder to argue the same for a Ballpoint I'll admit but to some extent it's the same.

Arguably yeah, but then you can also say that you can get fountain pens that are nice to write with but don't cost anywhere close to £125.

It's the same for paint brushes. I always spend a little extra on a nice decent brush, they last for years and instead of paying £2 I pay £4-5.

The difference between a 'nice' bic pen, as in not the cheapest going and this £125 pen in price is in the hundreds of thousands of percent.

Nice pen you got there :), ignore all the silly replies.

Aha, each to their own, you got some spare money and wanna buy something that you fancy? go for it :) ignore the "lolz!", either trolls, jealous, under the age of 12 so they can be forgiven, or just people that need to grow up

pens go missing all the time, id personally hate myself if i lost a 100plus pen

So true, pens have a habit of getting lost.

Personally I would never see myself paying that much money for a pen, I don't see what it offers over a £10 pen (a 21p bic is good enough for me).

It's nice, but not £125 nice.

Oh noes! Things are silly as long as they don't conform to your own personal opinion!

I'll be very serious now - buying a pen for £125 is one of the most morally reprehensible actions a person can do. It's a disgusting by-product of a capitalist rush where the rich white man goes **** you to the rest of the world. If you have 5p in your pocket, you're in the top 10% rich list. £125 can feed an Ethiopian family for a year.

Gloating about this purchase just makes it far worse. If I laugh, I do so with contempt.

Cant believe this thread has made 6 pages

And yep you guessed I was bored enough to read through everyone of them
