Despite having a system as listed in my sig, quite a few areas of the game cause my FPS to drop to mid 30s.

Reducing settings doesn't seem to help. 16xQAA to no AA makes no difference. Anybody else had troubles with his mod?

I know there is a newer version of this mod, but I doubt that will make a difference.

I'd imagine it's to do with texture memory usage. You have 896mb of vram. With the amount of high res textures in use with the mod I think they say that even that much vram might get used up. I think the recommended amount is 1gb of vram.

Perhaps you are right but I seem to remember reading a review of GTX 275 SLi versus HD4890 CrossfireX. With everything cranked up to max and playing through the most visually demanding level of Episode 2, I believe the minimum FPS was about 60, with the average a lot higher.

do you mean with the cinematic mod?

Probably not your issue judging by your wording, but I presume vsync is off?

50 parts!

Thats going to take a while

Hmmm may go for the 'LE' version, I've never been a fan of the HD character models, especially Alyx

Going to grab this as I just started to replay HL2. There is a torrent link on their forum on that site for the full final v10 at 9.61GB LOL!

Getting about 500-600k/s.

Can anybody tell me who composed the music in the youtube trailer from the link above?

I'm sure I've heard it before in a film.

I hope this will work on Windows7, as I'm currently on XP 32bit here.
Mind you will probably take till end of Oct to download this :D

Should work on Windows 7, providing it's the 64bit version because for some reason on the website it states that it needs 64bit windows.

But thanks for the links, downloading this for tonight, looks awesome. 5hrs @ 600kb/s :D

So what are our Alex options this time round? In 7 you could have the HD version of the orignal head and have her in any outfit you choose. In 8 and 9 you could only have orignal head with orignal outfit and couldn't mix and match. Which was a shame. I find the 'other head' pig ugly and i don't know why the guy who makes the cinemtic mods is so utterly obessed with her

I'd like to know too. That's just how I feel about the replacement Alyx

It's from the Star Trek Trailer 2 or 3. All I know is that it is either from a group called Freedom Fighters, or the track is called Freedom Fighters lol
