CS/pepper gas, batons, hand to hand restraints are all painful. They are not torture on there own. Nor is taser. What do you think pulling an arm around there back and forcing it up is dong. Is that compliance through pain. You really have no idea what you are talking about.

Exactly, tasers used on direct contact leave absolutely no tipe of evideces. Actually, they are known around the world as: "the torturer's tool of choice".
Electro-shock is one of the most painful forms of torture; no matter who is at the other end of the CED. That's not my opinion, but that of every single organisation and association exect Taser International and the governments who use tasers.
When 436 people die after being pepper sprayed I will also ask for a ban.
Being tasered is against every human rights treaty: you have the right not to be tortured and not to receive a degrading treatment.
Tasers aro not exclusive for criminals but to subdue every single citizen into compliance. Tasers have been used on:
# Children under 10
# Elderly people
# Teenagers
# Disabled people
# Mentally ill patients
# Domestic animals
# Pregnant women
# Pets
# Ministers & Professionals
Again complete rubbish. Most police tasers fire barbs which guess what leave marks.
For the 500th time it is not torture and does not contravene anything. Unless you also want to class hand restraints, pepper sprays and everything else as torture as well.

So what course of action is a good alternative to an unstable person weilding a knife or some form of weapon?
Human rights yes, but the victims/potential victims - they come first.
I could agree with that, except for 2 issues:
- In every single forum I tried so far, most people are against tasers (except military forums)
- The British public has been mislead to believe that: tasers are “non-lethal”, and they are a substitute to firearms. Both are a lie to increase acceptance.
The British public has the right to know the truth; then they can make their own choice.
It could be defined as “torture” if you had no other choice but to read my posts. However, since you are reading them voluntarily, the right term is "masochism".

Yes, I totaly agree. A real criminal with a firearm would laugh his ass off at an officer with one of those little torture toys.
Though they are really effective with old women and children!!!

I'm all for Tasers until they are used (and this already happens in certain countries at least) as a simple compliance tool (cattle prod). Once an officer uses one to simply make you follow a command, for something where force would not have been used, they've crossed the line.
Just wait until Tasers are used to control peaceful OAP protestors due to it being a safer method for the police to use rather than being safer for the person who actually gets zapped.

seeing as it is classified as a fire arm. This will not happen often and when it is the police can be charged. We do not have the same laws or ways as other countries.
