Although I didn't do one myself I think gap years are generally a pretty good idea as long as you can do something you want to do rather than just wasting a year. If you can definitely get onto the TEFL course and you think you should be able to get some work in Holland, and you'd like to do it, I don't think it's a bad plan.

I'm in a similar position... I'm set to go back to Uni this September and start another 4 year course. I'm not really interested in it, and I'll be racking up £30k of debt :( I don't know what else to do.

I'm looking into going out to Australia or NZ for some work. Thoughts?

Yeaaaa, I'm taking this trip for time to think tbh.

Two friends went over to Aussie for 6 months and had serious problems getting work. They are back now.

Hahahah why is this?! :D
A) sexy bartender I had a crush on
B) anarchist bartender (different bartender!) who served me 'coffee' and almost got fired for a keg being 'mysteriously' emptied the same night I 'spontaneously' stayed up 'til 7am.
C) uber cheap.

Perfect! :D

B, but I'm A Dutch Polish guy who speaks both languages fluently :p.
And consider both countries a more pleasant place to be than the UK ( though I've only been in London, my opinion of London is that it's a ****hole).
