I've just started reading V for Vendetta after watching the film, loving it and wanting to know more. I've always loved the idea of comic books, but have never really enjoyed reading them, but I'm finding this to be superb.

Does anyone else enjoy graphic novels? And if so, can you recommend me anymore to read? I've thought about Watchmen, but are there any others? :)

Thanks.

v for vendetta is an excellent book, and so is watchmen

depends what your into really, might wanna check out sin city, batman year one, spawn, Y the last man, civil war

comics iv read/reading and would recommend

Y: The last man (finished)
rising stars (finished)
walking dead , best zombie comic ever (ongoing)
invincible (ongoing)

I'm half way through reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman series and can highly recommend that.

Other than that Watchmen, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Arkham Asylum and The Sin City series are all good.

Look for stuff by either Frank Millar or Alan Moore and your generally guaranteed a good read.

Sandman is fantastic. Buffy Series 8, Angel Series 6, Fray and Astonishing X-Men are all good if you are a Whedon fan.

A friend lent me a few Constantine: Hellblazer's as well, they're quite good.

You can get Aliens graphic novels and I really liked them when they were in comic form. Theres a great story where the humans are consuming alien royal jelly and some go mental.

Got lots of Batman which are all good. Used to have a really good one where Judge Death from 2000AD turns up in Gotham.

I also have all the old transformers comics from the 80s on a CD. Unsurprisingly they mostly have better storylines than the recent films. The recent transformers graphic novels are very good if you like that sort of thing.

I've just read V for Vendetta and Watchmen like everyone else, but if you fancy something a bit less comic booky try Peresopolis, it's really great.

Currently reading ones called Lone wolf and cub, which take about 30 min each and are great if you can't be arsed with proper reading ;)

Fantastic, exactly what I was hoping for!

Thanks everybody, I'll check these out. Like I said, I've never really been one for comics, but these graphic novels seem so much more up my street for some reason.

Thank you. :)

I just bought 2 of the Aliens Omnibus graphic novels at £22 each...but they were so entertaining and took me back to the Aliens glory days!

Sorry to be a pedant but comics and graphic novels are one and the same, graphic novels are just collected editions of the serialised comics.

This isn't a dig at you, more at people who will claim to read graphic novels but not comics as though it's somehow beneath them. I'm 30 and I still read comics.

I do realise that that's all graphic novels are or I wouldn't have bothered saying that I prefer them. :p I certainly don't feel that reading comic books is beneath me, I've just never enjoyed reading them, but I'm enjoying reading V for Vendetta.

Like I said previously, I've always loved the idea of comic books, but I've just never got on with them.

The Aliens books are quite expensive. Think they've come down a bit since I last looked on Amazon.

I find the above have been pretty good in the past when I've bought Transformers comics.

Yup, they are pretty pricey. The thing that really bugs me is I had a complete set of every single US dark horse alien, predator, AVP and terminator comic, a few years back I sold them for a substantial amount as I was skint. Now upon doing a little research they are worth 3 times as much. :(

Currently planning on picking up two omnibus editions each month until I have all the stories again.
