Halo Anime Coming Soon

Microsoft will be releasing a Halo anime at the end of the year. This will be a 7 episode series and will be launched on Xbox Live (then DVD and BluRay in future)

Thoughts?

I love how everyone shouts Milk whenever anything new in the Halo universe is announced.

How many Final Fantasy animes are there? How about the Resident Evil ones?

I liked the Halo comics so I'm interested in this.

I will reserve judgement for now until I see the trailer. It will be interesting though.

Slightly offtopic: Anyone seen the Dead Space: Downfall anime? I watched it when I was ill last week. Its not actually too bad lol

Yeah let's not forget Metal Gear Solid as well. Almost as many games as Final Fantasy, and a ton of comics to go with it.

I honestly don't know why everyone goes OMG MILK with Halo when I never hear this nonsense with literally any other major gaming series.

I've hundreds of hours of Halo gaming under my belt

Personally, I think the games were good, but now they are expanding out into other areas it's not really necessary.

The story the Anime is supposed to cover was one of the best and most interesting parts of the books for me, and will lead right into Halo: Reach.

If they do it right, it'll be a good series.

Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation.

Quite some big name Anime production studios to be involved in this project then, which have done lots of Sci-Fi/Mecha based stuff in the past and still do.

I think the idea of milking a franchise is not about the number of sequals more like the number of offshots including anime, mugs, plastic figures, kart racing games, drinks, burger king meals, other type of games etc etc. Not sure if i would call Halo a milked franchise just a very marketable one and MS are making sure it stays in the public eye. To me Halo is the only big franchise that MS own (not just publish) so they are going to do stuff like this and its not a problem just makes common sense to get as much money as they can. Perhaps they think an anime series will make it more popular in Japan, it increased sales of valkirya chronicles there so perhaps its a good idea.

Exactly, it's just merchandise, what popular stuff these days doesn't have its own line of Toys, T-shirts, Books, Posters etc.

So far the series has only seen 4 main games (Halo 1, 2, 3 & Halo Wars) with a stand alone expansion due in a few months (Halo 3 ODST) and the 4th game in the main series is due next year (Halo Reach, which is the prequel that leads up to the events of the first game).

I would hardly call it milked =/

Stuff like the limited edition halo mountain dew that people were whinging about was just a form of clever advertisements, which made sure that people saw Halo where ever they went.

Who cares if something gets milked, as long as its not tasteless like what Nintendo do with Mario.
