battlefield 2142, does anyone still play ?

gaming rig died about 8 months ago, shelved it as i couldn't be arsed to fix it

just rebuilt it and just installing 2142 again

does anyone from here still play this ?

i remember i used to team up with some lads from here every night and cause carnage, under [OcUK] tags, was top fun

Used to really like it tbh, more so than 2.

I have it and after enjoying Battlefield Heroes I may start getting back into it.

Lots of servers still, the last time I ran it.

I've been playing it quite a lot recently, love it. I usually play on the servers Firebirds1 and IZI UK Suez Canal, both titan maps. Add me to your friends list if you want, search for Beenom.

That's the latest patch for it I have sitting in my archive area so to the best of my knowledge it's the latest.

You see, i loved cod 4, but shooting people was about the best you could do

with 2142, you can do all sorts

Be commander, run your whole side, be a tank whore, start a squad and give people tasks, like defending a set area/point. hit the gunship and own the skys, wiping out anything and everything in dog fights and high speed low sortee's

Its just an epic fps, nothing like it tbh

titan mode is awesome

although wrongly considered just a BF2 MOD, 2142 offered a much more varied battle with something BF2 has never got quite right, balance !

going to re-install this now and see if i can remember how to play !!

I felt a lot of people overlooked this game on just that, they thought it was just a mod for BF2

It is by far the best ever battlefield game to date

Hated it myself it was just such an uncoordinated mess on pub servers and too large a scale to work well at a clan level.

small public servers about 32 man are absolutely spot on

and there was/is loads of awesome clan stuff going on

Great game, and some of the maps were really atmospheric - that urban one with the monorail track running above it was brilliant.
