Hi,

I have been having BSOD nv4_disp.dll errors for a while now while gaming only, sometimes it only takes 10-15mins and sometimes i get a good hours gaming in (normally happens half way through a CSS match).

I have browsed a few forums, done a lot of searching on the net, downloaded and installed more drivers than i care to list and have come to the conclusion its the power supply.

I read that my card requires 36amps from the 12V rail, so i looked up what my psu gives (enermax liberty 500w) and found i get 32amps out of it. So im guessing that when i get to a certain point in a game that for some reson requires more out of my hardware my power supply cant give my pc what it needs :(

So basically i would like your opinion on a PSU that should be capable of running the card at max load.

I have a Leadtek GTX260 Extreme+

I was looking at the Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply as its on offer this week.

Do you think this will be ok or would i be best using something else, im not wanting to spend much more money and not over £100.

Thanks for reading!

OCZ ModXstream 600 watt and modular is an alternative to consider, think it is £57.99 in This Week Only. Not as well respected as Corsair, but it fits the bill. I got one for my spare rig and it powers an almost exact same graphics card.

Cheers

What about Corsairs HX 620W Modular? A damn godsend when it comes to cable management.

2nd this, the HX series is more efficent, offers cable management, its just an all round better PSU tbh, if you want to get a corsair don't bother getting a TX series go for the HX series, the TX may be good, but they are slowly becomming outdated, where as the HX is brand new, and it offers that lovely cable management :)

The new HX PSU's are the Corsair HX 750 and 850, I thought the 620 version had been around for 2 years at least. I have had the Corsair HX520 for around two years and it is very nice. The OCZ PSU is an obvious alternative for a budget build.

^ didn't realise ;)

I have the GTX260 amp2 overclocked graphics card and also experienced random crashes anything from 10 minutes to an hour into the game. I was using the Hiper R 580 watt PSU, and installed the HX750W just 4 days ago, and since then zero crashes. I have even been able to reduce the core voltage a few notches with no problems, so it is very possible your current PSU is not helping. My onle concern with the Corsair was the modular cables. Each of the peripheral cables need the power connecters re positioning to get them to fit, and in my opinion the Hiper cables were better made, though the Corsair PSU itself is great.
