The problem is, the "regulars" are growing up and having lives :p

The newbies need to take up the slack for the above reason, plus the fact that once you have run your car it really makes little sense to do so again, and again, and again. ;)

Kind of agree. I ran my car once, I have no interest in running it again.

Not sure about your first point though, i'm sure even the busiest of us can take one day away from our hectic schedules.

I have no interest in running it again.

This is why I'm debating actually organising another one for this year. A lot of people have run their cars and have no interest in running again, a few want to run again and a few new people/cars want to run too but I don't think enough want to run to make it worth while. :(

Getting 20+ runners is quite hard at the moment due to most people having run previously or not having cars that they want to put on the rollers.

EDIT: Quick flick through the thread...I have ~9 willing runners...this is looking less likely to happen. :(

i say decide a date, stick a thread up and if not enough interest is found just cancel it

at least then gives people a chance to comit and say for definate if they're running or not.

I would only turn up as a spectator, as although i could run my car i won't because:

1. It is boring
2. It is french
3. I don't think it has the power to get on the rollers, never mind turn them :(

:p

The last one was a failure if I remember rightly, the golden days of RR meets seem to be over, the new guys just don't cut it.

Key thing to note is I stopped organising them ;-) I don't think I ever had less than 20 runners or had bhp's averaging less than 200 bhp. The issue is you can only find running 20 stock metro 1.4's back to back interesting for so long. Slight exageration I know but a lot of the members we had with exotic or interesting stuff have either just about stopped posting or sold their wacky cars. Merlin and Drexel are perfect examples of this.

Regarding booking this, just you choose a date yourself invadergir and book that. I gave phate loads of advice about running the rr days based on my experiences over the years that I'm happy to pass on if you so wish.

All help is greatly received (msn et.c in trust :)). The only thing is, as you say, the days of exotica (ie not 1.2 hatchbacks) are just gone. I think the best thing to do for 10 is to leave it till spring/summer next year in hope we'll have more cars available to run.

What I may see about getting organised though is a 'normal' meet in the same sort of area as it's relativity central and it's always good to meet up with everyone, not just southerners or northerners. :)

I agree. Back in the day cars were getting modded regularly for more power, now it's not as frequent and annually is more than enough.

That's only because they have been struck with common sense. :D

The rest of us still plough every spare penny we earn in to making it break more often.
