Guys

went to have a game of Crysis warhead, but got a notice on screen saying that i had readched my limit and to contact EA support..

I got directed to a support page that was totally useless and gave me no idea of who to contact

anyone got any ideas on what to do?, didnt think this kind of DRM was in the steam version.., also the game has only ever been installed on the one PC, and can only guess that due to using different versions of win 7 has made the game think it has been installedon different pc's.

So what to do?

I've had this before - raised a ticket with EA, got my activation limit reset :)

when you format, there's no need to delete your steam folder, just keep it on another partition

then on your new install, just double click steam.exe and it'll install itself again

Steam is basically portable.

It still registers Crysis Wars to each Windows Installation. I've carried my Steam folder across a jillion Windows installs, and each time I open C:W on a new Windows install, it triggers an activation. I'm actually half tempted to get a crack for my legit Steam copy.

This is why I <3 publishers like Stardock, who refuse to put any form of limitation/activation DRM into their games.

Thats exactly how i have it, I have a seperate hdd (D) with all my steam games in. The C driver gets changed about fairly often, and i take it that this is what has triggered theproblem.
