Big Cat caught on Video by PC

Knowing the width of the rail tracks in Chris's video is 4ft 8.5in, the animal photographed by him is clearly in excess of 4ft and as such is certainly not a domestic cat.

Look at the clip at the very start and at about 17 / 18 seconds and compare it to the width of the rail , it's a lot bigger than a housecat

If you watch the video to the end, look at the train track where it has a bend further up the track, it's a lot wider than the close-up track which says to me the track is banked thus giving the illusion of the tracks being a lot closer together than they are. You can get better scale for the Cat from the fence-posts which are out in the background of the video and a lot further away from the Cat, it's a normal sized Cat.

The UK rail gauge is 4' 8 1/2". Going by that scale, it puts the cat at about 2 and a half to 3 feet in length. Plus the tail (which looks very long itself, much longer than my cat's tails.

I say big cat tbh.

the angle makes it awkward to judge the width of the rails in comparison to the cat

if you take the height of a rail and compare it to the cat directly on top of the rail then the cat is obviously just a largeish tom cat imo

That's quite clearly not a big cat. Big cats are huge, certainly far bigger than that one in the video. It is probably a domestic black maine **** or something similar. My sister has a ginger one and it is a frikkin' huge cat.

Google maine **** and have a look at the first few pictures that pop up. Now that's a big cat :)

no way is that a'big cat' - looks like a completely normal cat to me compared to the surroundings. It also walks like a normal cat. big cats like panthers walk differently due to their size.

We are looking at the same video right? The same cat?

I'm looking at this one.
