BBQ Summer

As far as I can remember, they say that we're going to have a heatwave every single year. Then half way through summer they come out with 'Oh...yeah...what we meant to say was...it's gonna rain'.

I'd like to say it surprises me, but it doesn't :(

Now the Met Office are predicting wet and windy weather for the remaining 6 weeks of summer, what's the betting it'll be cracking the flags next week? ;)

Did anyone really expect the good weather to last more than a couple of weeks anyway? I think we've had a fairly good run, I've been warm enough to wear my shorts (unless at work) for pretty much 2 months, and haven't needed so much as a sheet when sleeping for nigh on 3 months.

They can't win really can they. We're giving them **** for predicting a good summer, if they hadn't given any predictions we'dve given them ****, if they predicted a bad summer then we'dve given them **** for us having a bad summer.

Giving the correct prediction would be a start.

I'd say the news that there will be rain all summer is going to affect peoples lives more than anything else in the news today.

So it seems that the MET office has taken back it's stupid prediction of a BBQ summer:-

if our science can't predict our weather a few months in advance it doesn't give me too much convidence in our ability to predict "global" changes!

HEADRAT
I was going to do a post on this, but you beat me

I'm bloody sick of all this wet weather and I live in the countryside. Luckily we live on high ground so we don't get affected by any flooding. I was hoping to do some work on the land, but it's too depressing to do any work with all this bloody rain.

I've had to put three tonnes of chippings in the chicken enclosure cause it's like a mud bath in there with 35 chickens running about, I can go in there with my trainers on instead of wellies covered in mud.

We had a beautiful June - still got the tan - but July is a wash-out and so it seems August too !

Oh well, seems like we can blame global warming again

A large canopy would be a good investment at this rate. Bought a ton of coal for this summer and only got 1 go out of it, arthghgh.
