I recommend that you stay away from Mock and Week untill you go to the shows, as I remember the last one being a near rehash of his gags of there. Good show though.

Not in cambridge this time :( Might try to get to the boro one.

Hey if you can go to the boro one I'll go with you :p

Yeah I bought his stand up DVD - it was nearly all material from Mock The Week :(

Eugh! would love to go but all the venues I could do clash with my work and I don't have much holiday left to take.

If you haven't seen his DVD or seen him live then don't assume what you will see is just "Mock the Week but slightly darker".
What you will see is "Dark, Dark, Dark material".

Me and the missus went to see him in Cambridge about a year ago when he was on tour.
It was an excellent evening and his warm-up guy was also excellent.
However if you've not seen his material before you will initially get a shock - he is a dark man indeed.

Most of the stand up gigs I've seen on TV are purely regurgitated jokes from mock the week. Nevertheless he's ok, just not worth the money.

This.

He is a very funny comedian and makes me laugh my head off but he doesn't half love reusing his jokes, I don't think I've come across a comedian that repeats so often.

The DVD of his last tour 70% of the material I had already heard before on either Mock The Week or some other TV show he appeared on, he isn't afraid to use the same jokes on other TV shows which were aired a few weeks after Mock The Week.. Amy Winehouse poster for abused horse's joke springs to mind - I heard him rehash that joke a few times on other shows and I find it strange TBH and lazy.

He is very funny but he does need to be careful with repeating material.

Fully intended to phone up first thing this morning and order my tickets, completely forgot and of course they're all sold out now /sigh

Managed to bag myself six tickets for the missus and some of my mates at the Apollo. Sat in the 1st section infront of the stage!
