*sigh* Sadly Australia suffers from extremely high house prices too... and what's worse there hasn't been a correction on prices yet either.
Compare those houses in the states for ~£70k
to this one in Perth for close to £2,000,000!!!!

Sucks!

Is there any truth in the rumours that if you buy a house on one of the designated holiday home builds that your not allowed to actually live in it all year round - it has to be let out? Or is that wild pub talk nonsense?
Sooooo, emigration to the US - is it an onerous process? If not, I'm going tomorrow!

Would anyone seriously consider buying a house like these as an alternative to investing it in shares / bonds / peps / isa's / savings etc etc?
I could afford to buy one of those shown outright. Surely the prices can't drop any lower? And even if I didn't buy it to sell on it would be a decent holiday let opportunity.
Any idea what a 4 bed central Florida house goes for per week these days?

Rare for American houses to be brick built, normally a lot of wood and then siding to protect the outside walls.
Those houses are in the middle of Florida, not on the coast. So you get all the disadvantages of Florida without the "advantage".
