Police new head scarfs

Men == Women

Therefore if women = head scarfs then men = headscarfs

If not, then surely this is sexism?

Before anyone points out that skirts and dresses != men, I'd image you can google some examples of men wearing skirts etc.

Just imagine that in Islam the roles were completely reversed so everything the women have to do the men do and vis versa.

Would you like it?

Answer truthfully please

Well the fact that she is of a different nationality is neither here nor there as it shows this is an incident that can occur anywhere regardless of country which is why its annoying when people complain about Britain bending over backwards and how we're so uniquely 'weak'.

Secondly, I don't see how the foreign country part makes a difference because a Mosque in Britain shouldn't be treated any different to a Mosque in, say, Saudi Arabia.

Thirdly, Lol at your subjugating remark. OH NOES A HEADSCARF!!!

The point you are missing is that a headscarf is NOT just about a matter of respect. I can give respect when its due, but this isnt applicable.

Since muslims love to claim how a woman isnt forced to wear a headscarf  , then the wearing of said headscarf is a cultural addition. Last time I looked, its not the culture of Britain. The headscarf is to give the cheap psychology ploy of basically "protecting" woman by belittling them.

The idea of a law enforcement officer of a particular gender being pressured (yes, pressure WILL come, as these developments change the norm) contravenes what people have been working towards for a long long time.

Yeh sort of mate...it does remove the temptation that a man might or may feel towards a woman if say her hair wasnt covered...whereas if the hair is covered you dont know what the womans hair is like.

....

Is a woman not allowed to deck herself out? If God gave her beauty, then why not show it? Last time I looked men dont start raping woman because they can see their hair.

Though then again............there was this man that married a 6yr old....

Well, until men can become pregnant then it's not going to happen to the extent that you'd like. You could make the same argument about Western role-reversal anyway so its irrelevant.

Standard dress for men in loads of countries is a tunic or whatever that could be said to resemble a dress. Plenty of men from other cultures in this country wear them too.

I own a sarong, as it goes, and it's damn comfy.

Obviously we all know woman are treated very differently than men in Islam, I remember a temp islamic young woman at work that wasn't allowed to talk to any men, was brought to work by family and picked up by family, wasn't allowed to go out alone and was prolly already decided who she was forced to marry.

While the islamic men are free to do anything they like and if the woman complains are free to give her a few slaps.

The more you try to understand islam the more you find out how strange and different it is.

Boohoo, cry me a river. Seriously, I don't see the point of this argument about the 'poor' women of Islam or the 'poor' female officers that'll have to wear some piece of cloth.

No. The women give birth and thats that the men take over from there. At school some teachers work up to 9months so it would not be a problem. They would make it work its their religion.

I ask again would you like it? Don't dodge the question. Would you like to do all that is required by women under Islam?

PMSL had a feeling someone would bring that up...yeh there was sadly you dont know enough about it to actually make a reasoned arguement on it....funnily enough quite a few priests have been fiddling with kids...go figure eh??...

I know that muslims are offended by female police officers not wearing that scarf, but what if the male police officer is gay and has to enter the mosque to arrest suicide bombers ?

Would they be allowed in ?

Would the police have to inform muslim leaders of gay cops ?

Yes, and we condemn those priests, and rightly so.

Your point?

Assuming the cops aren't going to bum a confession out of anyone, I doubt it.

it will only help to make the muslim community work better with the police with regards to terrorism and other crimes

Oh I see now, a police women wears a scarf and they come out shouting
WE GOT A TERRORIST in the Mosque.

So thats all we needed not a army but a women with a scarf why didn't I think of that I could have made a ton.

Here here.

At the end of the day as long as Islam does not affect non Muslim women then I would just have a differing view like I do with all the other religions.

E.g. When have I ever slagged of Muslims on these forums before this thread?

Answer never and if I was some crazy being here 3 years now it would not be hard considering all the race/religion threads we get.

Point is it starts with little things and it can easily move onto to other little then bigger things. Maybe lots of "trivial" things targeted towards women! Its still not right and has no place as a police officer.

The Muslims as citizens of this country should try their best to help our police force period. Not trying to make the women more like their religion first.

If you're a muslim woman, Wear a headscarf. If you're not, You should not have to.

These women arent being forced to wear them thankfully.

But I just think it's a bizarre turn of events.

I would never wear a Crucifix, because i'm agnostic. I would never wear a tagiyah because I'm not muslim.

So why on earth none muslim women would chose to wear something of Islamic faith when visiting a mosque just seems bizarre.

That is it, pure and simple.

Well if a non-muslim woman wants to visit a mosque then I can understand if they would require her to wear a headscalf.

The problem is when a non-muslim woman in this country is pressured to do so when its relating to her job, especially a police woman. Its absolutely wrong.
