Was wondering if anyone could help me out on this. Whenever I go to Cinema I always just buy the tickets there and then. However, I usually always get rubbish seats to near the front so the experience is never that great. I always assumed other people booked online to get the better seats first so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm confused as to how the seat selection works with this. On the website you just select how many people and then pay. You then get your tickets from the ticket dispenser at the actual Cinema. Is this where you will select what seat you want? I've read the Terms and Conditions but it mentions nothing of this.

I know it's a stupid question but I just want to be sure. :)

The one in Milton Keynes is first come first serve, you just have to get into the screen about 15mins before if you want a decent seat (although you're then sitting there for 45mins until the film starts).

Edit: Obviously depends on how popular the film you're going to see is and if you're going at a peak time.

I went to see Harry Potter couple weeks ago. Orded online, went to Cineworld in Notts. Inserted my card into the machine, it spat out the ticket ....it allocated me a seat right near the front. A women is waiting insite the screening room with a clip board.

Me and my GF Have unlimited tickets, and yes, they do allocate seats. You would have to go into the cinema to do this. I would say half the time its General Admission. It depends what film, what time and what day. If they think it will be busy, then they allocate seats.

Some shows you can pre-book tickets.
I know that when I saw each of the latest Star Wars trilogy at Cineworld we pre-booked.
same for Matrix 2 & 3 and at least one of the Harry Potter movies.

But as said above, the majority of the time there is no allocation and the first in get the best seats.

Considering we choose the seats and sat in them with the seat number clearly printed on them, no . . .
