Finally an Xbox Live feature everyone wants!

Funny how i accidently came across that option last night while buying some MS points and there was me thinking it had always been there but i was too blind to notice it.

It has been available for at least a few months now I know as I did it, only now is major nelson giving a tutorial how to do it.

I'm fairly sure it wasn't, or that it was there but then got removed for a while. One of our very own added his card details to prove you could turn off auto renewal but then ended up having to phone MS as it didn't. This was a week or two ago, was rather amusing :E

I didn't know this feature was in. The only thing stopping me going to gold again was that I couldn't cancel it before - I tried twice, the first time I was put on hold for nearly half an hour before giving up, and the second time they said they did it but kept charging for two months afterwards - I had to get a 48 hour code scratchcard and put that in eventually (they stop the renewal thing).

Really horribly atrocious of MS to deliberately leave out the option to turn off auto-renewal for a while when they knew their telephone service is woefully inadequate. They're likely now noting that there are many like me who refuse to pay for the service unless there's a way to easily cancel it.

I also love how you can't do it via the 360 itself - only on the website. How unfair is that?

Like the way he makes it sound like it's been there all along!!

I manged to do it months back :S

That's definitely new. I managed to commit an epic fail on here a few weeks back when I was ranting that you could turn off auto-renewal online, so added a credit card and then took screenshots to show now to turn it off. Problem was I found that the auto-renew, when off is clickable, but when it was on there was no link to use, meaning you had to phone.

I'm sure it's new too, I've been trying it for ages now, and while the button has been there to do it it's always done nothing.

Never been an issue for me but always wondered why they didn't have an online option to turn things off. Good to see they have finally added it.
