Stumbled across this free download game from BMW last night.

BMW M3 Challenge

From BMW.com said:
Start the ignition to see just what the V8 high-rev engine is capable of. Shift up through the gears to propel the BMW M3 Coupé forwards as it constantly pushes the boundaries of driving pleasure even further. Brake as you approach the first bend but keep your steering tight, you don't want to lose your advantage.

Think you could have performed better? Then try again. Thanks to the BMW M3 Challenge, the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit is all yours. Configure your BMW M3 Coupé using original paint finishes and enjoy the powerful sound of the engine at 8,300 rpm - until you have to brake again that is.

Any one tried it?

some people may have missed it first time round though so still worth a post, though it was over a year ago i think when it first appeared.

It was naff the last time I tried it :(

Perception of speed was v.bad meaning you crashed far too often.

I played it quite a lot when it came out. Fun, but the races were often ruined by guys being there just to crash into you.

I enjoyed the free Volvo game more.

The Volvo game was kinda fun but i didn't enjoy the car setups, i like to set mine up to drift i was looking forward to doing this in the 240 but it wasn't really that happy sliding for long periods, Race 07 feels much better E30 round the ring with a good setup and a logitech G25 wheel is fantastic fun :)

This is based on GT legends. Unfortunately, it's all but impossible to play without an analogue controller. Anyone know if its possible to use Xbox 360 pads with Windows games? Then I might be able to play this and GT Legends again.

You can get a PC wireless adaptor, I think the wired ones work straight out the box

Is it true that they only work on PC games which are also available for the Xbox? It would be nice to be able to use it as a generic pad, not just for certain games.

They work by default with games or windows games. Other games will work fine but you'll have to set up all the button configs just like you would with a wheel.
