ok so for people who helpfully answered my questions on my last toilet talk...i now need a little more.

How the scooby do you get the syphon off?

Doest seem to be any real way apart from ripping it off.

All ive done so far is drain the water, ive not shut any pipes off.

I'd be more worried about those maggots at the bottom, you don't want them crawling up your bum!!

I guess this is a close coupled cistern, i.e. the cistern sits on top of the bowl? If so you need to remove the entire cistern from the bowl by disconnecting all inlet and overflow pipes, remove any screws securing it to the wall and then undo the two nuts you will find underneath the rear of the bowl (probably wing nuts). There will be a large rubber doughnut that seals the cister to the bowl, this should really be replaced to prevent any leaks. Once the cistern is off, you will find a large plastic nut on the bottom that secures the syphon to the cisterm.
