BMW - Replacement Model Badge

It's weird, bmw have 1 series in sport and m sport models whereas the other new mdoels are just m sport.

eg:

130i sport
130i m sport

330i se
330i sport (no m sport designation)

no wonder people get more confused :p

I did mention with the exception of the M1 - a rather different beast to the rest of the M range I think you'll agree.

Fair enough mate, I'd missed that part of your earlier post. :o

It would have to be something pretty damn good to revive that name....

It would be interesting to see though...... :D

You actually think thats the reason? :p

What is the reason? If internet rumour is be believed, there's a billed replacement to the M1. Well unless they don't want it to be confused with the M1 motorway, but why have the M3, M5 etc :p

They dont feel there is sufficient demand for an M powered 1 Series and that the 135i M Sport is a sensible top end of the 1 Series range.

Sorry to derail this thread further but is the rumoured 8 series going to make a comeback? :D

Since we have:
Merc CLS
Porcshe Panamera
Audi A7

what has that got to do with an 8? the 8 is a 2dr GT coupe, and the cars you have listed are 4dr 'coupes'

That it is. With a very limited spend on mods, the 135i is terrifyingly quick (it is as standard anyway). I've seen a std one beat an E92 M3 over short sprints.

Subtle reminder... ;)

Wait a mo, isnt this called the 1 Series M? Doesnt that COME with the M badge on the back as an option?

I was thinking that as I guy at work told me to keep it on because it's supposed to be there; but then I've just had a look on the options list and it isn't there. Even though it's only a sitcker, I'd expect it to be on BMW's site if it were a true option, afterall, debadge is an option.

Anyway, thanks to you guys and a handy youtube vid, it's off and you can't tell it was ever there. :)

Hairdryer, dental floss and some adhesive remover worked a treat.

Thx all. :)
