Demigod by Gas Powered Games (SupCom)

You should play more aggressively, you can quite happily leave him to level up on minions whilst you 3v2 take down all their towers + cap their portals, that rook either has to give up his spot to come help or watch their citadel come crashing down before anyone has even hit lvl10.

The biggest mistake I see people doing is pushing to the mid flags and trying to stay put and playing cap and counter cap until lvl20, work the towers from the beginning, if you're the right demigods you can take them down without any trouble even in the first couple levels. 3 demigods zerging one of their portals can have it in minutes of the start, add a cheeky lock to that and you just boned their team before the game even got going (I play with people on TS to coord that though, playing pug is a grind fest)

just picked up this game, but its a shame theres no tutorial :(
looks pretty beautiful and the music is really nice as well

Have a look at these videos narrated by one of the developers...

It's not a tutorial as such but he goes through enough of the features to give you a good start.

If you've got more time on your hands then here's some good in depth reading...

More in the actual thread

Stardock announced today that the demo for Gas Powered Games’ RTS game, Demigod (www.demigodthegame.com), is now available for download. The demo features online Internet multiplayer games, the Cataract map and four playable Demigods (Regulus, Rook, Sedna and Lord Erebus.) All of the gameplay modes (Conquest, Dominate, Fortress and Slaughter) in Demigod are available to play in the demo.

Demigod is the ultimate real-time tactical PC strategy game. For fans of strategic epic large-scale multiplayer battles, Demigod is irresistible.

Players will vanquish other would-be gods, gain levels and unlock the power of mystic artifacts as they battle for ascent to the Pantheon. Take control of an immensely powerful being and defeat your brethren in a series of epic arenas in order to ascend into the pantheon of the gods.

During the course of each battle, players gain experience, purchase equipment, learn magical spells, capture key resources and upgrade their Citadel while working to lay to waste the opposing faction.

Easy to play, hard to master, Demigod is available worldwide digitally via Impulse (www.impulsedriven.com) at the same price ($39.95) no matter where the person is located.

For those that grab this I would suggest first hosting the game and passwording it. Then choose ai as your team mates and opponents. They are not great but at least you can have a play around and see how it all fits together

The lack of a tutotial is a weird decision even on the main game but it's not a hard game to play. At the same time what they have done is given an unlimited demo of one of the good maps in the game (it's the one I play the most) with 4 gods and allowed it to be played SP as well.

It's a good deal - you could play this and get a lot out of it - the full version is obviously better but then that's the intention. So get past the lack of tutorial and you have a pretty sweet demo!

What a crock, what sort of idiots release a demo with no tutorial mode?

The game really doesn't need a tutorial - it's very quick to learn the basics. Obviously, it's not very easy to learn class builds and tactics, but that's not something a tutorial could give you - it's a very dynamic game that you learn as you play :)

The next patch will also give us an SDK, and the forum has many a modder chomping at the bit with UI changes and maps ready to make :)
