Nvidea gtx300 series

Well its more like 2 x GTX265, if that card was ever made.

It doesn't exist so it doesn't count, it used the same core, memory, and shader clock speeds as the GTX 260, but configured similar to that of a GTX 280. Hence why I said 260/280 hybrid.

No you never you ninja editor :D You said it was like two GTX285 and its not, it performs like two overclocked GTX260 thats why I said "its more like 2 x GTX265, if that card was ever made"

I find the lack of "WOW" material disturbing. Where's the PR materials, where's the videos showing Luna curvature, where are the screenshots showing things that cannot be unseen!!!

Nvidia new GF 300GTX still stick by Q4/2009 but yes it may on the shelf from begin of 2010 -- it take time to stock after shipping from Nvidia, the cost of this card I would thin between £650 to £950 --- ATi showed off new card cost much more that too expensive.

bot ATI and Nvidia new card will run DX11 (only under Vista SP1/SP2 and W7)

Lie!

What I meant was that GTX295 is basically a host of two hybrid gpu's...
You know sometimes when your fingers and your mind don't sync and you end up posting something that doesn't match what your mind was thinking and trying to say.:p

I heard some whispers about six weeks ago that the new Nvidia card was 5-6 months behind ATI's. It seemed like February was most likely although with some corners cut and a little luck on the yields we may get a drip feed of cards from December.

Does Vista even support DX11? I thought DX11 was meant for W7 only..
Anyhow, since I will be building an AMD rig, Ati xfire will be my likeliest choice, therefore GTX300 doesn't concern me too much. :D

It's two underclocked 275's stuck together. 480 SP's (2 x 240, which is what the 275 has, can't be 260 because that has 216), 1792MB GRAM (2 x 896MB, which is what the 275 has, can't be 285 because that has 1GB), just at lower clocks. It is essentially a dual 260/285 hybrid, but then, that's what the 275 is.

Where the hell did you get a £650 - £950 price tag from lol, a new card has never really exceeded £500, let alone a minimum of £650, and up to £950...? I don't think so somehow, if NVIDIA charged this much for their new cards they would go bankrupt over night

You will probably find that it will cost around £550-£600, but even that is only the first few weeks, after that the price usually drops to the £450 - £500 mark. Any more and NVIDIA are shooting themselves in the foot.

There's no concrete information about the '300' series of Nvidia cards.

Plus, do you really trust a journalist like Charlie Demerjian who wears a pinky and the brain Tshirt?

DX11 will be on vista as well it is not only for win7. People have to remember that win7 is not that different from vista as some seem to think they are quite closely related and similar in many aspects.

Yeah but the new WDDM1.1 optimizations are not coming to Vista which is where there is a slight advantage to DX11 gaming on Vista vs Win7

I cant even see it being that much. With the past economic problems everyone is telling me I'm having I feel sure even Nvidia will have the bean counters running the show. Infact they probably have crack team of male cow poo merchants working round the clock.

Why is it that whenever someone's seen an improbable hardware configuration, it's always their uncle who has it? :D

just read your post and nearly had an heart attack when I seen those figures!

Just no way Nvidia will charge that much!....anyway I have just purchased a 4870 and what a card that is! I have always chosen nvidia over ati, but I just thought I'd give ATI a shot and I'm not disapointed this card eats through everything I throw at it.

1 thing they need to sort out(ATI) is the drivers......what you want to remember is that nvidia/ati dont make their money through top end stuff....joe public always goes for middle range. :)
