My kit arrived today and saying as I've got today off from work (woo!) I decided to give this a go. First and most important thing to say about this stuff is that it worked straight away! No messing on with configuring routers or PCs blah blah blah. It just works. :D

I've not used anything like these before and I was worried that it would be a faff and I'd have to mess on with IP's, pinging this thing and that thing, so I was shocked with the ease of these powerline adapters. Literally plug in, switch on.

And then straight in to the Internet...

Now do I need to do any advanced configuring with these things? Security anything like that?

So far I give these a big thumbs up! But I haven't done any file transfers yet between the other PCs so that will be the real test I suppose! ;)

Thanks.

Bit of a shame they aren't a nice plug-top unit, it's weird having a seperate box for something like this.

Hmm I have to disagree, I think these look very smart. I think also I would have struggled with the one's that plug direct into the socket as my sockets on the wall are right behind my desk. I would have to have pulled my desk forward to fit (same with the other PC's).

So for me, these are a better choice.

:)

I agree, having it separate of the plug makes it more versatile. The PICs (if there) don't show up for me possibly due to content filter intervention, do they have any wall mount facilities? E.G pear shaped holes to hook onto some screws ala some 4/6 way extension cables do. If so that kind of eliminates the not being plug top issue as you can easily attach them to the skirting next to the plug.

Hi there

Just looked on the bottom, yes they seem to have holes for mounting to walls or skirting, etc. :)

Thanks!

They look tidy. Just got to replace that really old Netgear router now :D

Got these aswell. I like them, worked straight out of box & they are miles better than the wireless i was using :)
Got my PC, Xbox 360 & PS3 all connected & had no problems.
