P182 is getting too hot for my setup. Need a cooler case!

Dear lovely Overclocker people,

This is my case. The more observant among you will notice that the side is not attached.

You might think I removed it just to take the photo? Oh no. I'm afraid I have recently discovered that an overclocked GTX 295 coughs a lot of heat over my overclocked i7 920, which causes it to overheat when under stress, and the only way to avoid this is to leave the side of the case off.
While I thought my airflow was pretty good, I think my Antec P182 may have finally found its limit.

I'm looking for a case that will let me run this setup nice and cool, with no hot exhaust from the GFX spilling over the CPU area. I plan to also add another GTX295 in the future when they're affordable.

Could you guys please recommend me some decent cases that would allow my OC'd system to run nice and cool. {I'm prepared to buy a new case, but if you're going to mention watercooling then do keep in mind I'm not made of money and I've never ever touched watercooling before so would need an idiot-proof guide of what to get}

I've always wanted a P1xx case, but with the PC-P50 coming in, I decided on that. Could be a good exchange if you get an extra bay converter + fan to go with it. Cable management would improve the airflow, 2x fans on top as well.

I think my 4870 isn't able to get heat away efficiently enough in my CM335 with single rear fan, so going to see if this new case will solve it.

Thanks for the replies, guys. As I was selling a bunch of hardware anyway I've decided to bung it all in the P182 and sell it as an overclocked, modded working computer instead of just as parts. Depending on how much I get for it, I'll use the proceeds to maybe get some CPU water cooling... keeping in mind I'm a total n00b when it comes to water cooling, could people give me some suggestions of what I'll be needing?

My new case and PSU (ordered last night) will be:

Coolermaster HAF 932 Full Tower Case

Coolermaster 1250W Real Power Pro PSU (Modular)

Does anyone have an idea when OcUK are getting these PSUs back in stock??

Clean the fans and filters out, tidy up all those cables, remove the middle HDD cage and put the side panel back on :)

Should improve airflow.

As others have pointed out, tidy up those power cables. Have a look at some of the cable management guides that are around here and on the net. Also remove that hard drive cage if you have nothing in it as that will give your GTX a bit more room to breath. ;)

- seal top extractor ... get rid of the fans going towards it.

- get rid of that RAM cooler ... WTF is it for ?

- TIDY those cables !

- clean the dust

- turn off all fans on the lower compartment for now just to test.

Once you get air flow working better through the case your new problem will be heat around the gfx card (as like the silly RAM cooler it's working against the airflow)

If you get this far then you can start working on exhausting the heat from the gfx card.

I run my gfxs at full load 24/7 and the fans are a constant problem due to the way they work against the airflow in my case

it looks like you need a bigger case!

you have too much stuff blocking your intake fans ............remove middle cage .....dump the noctua and replace with Silverstone 2400 rpm...it'll be noisy, but it shifts far more air than the Noctua...........about 110cfm........... turn cooler to face rear panel exhaust........ never ventiate to the roof, reduce the rpm of roof fan to about 500rpm, i'd also replace rear noctua with Silverstone too, remove RAM cooler...but it looks like most of all, that you need a large LI case...that case you have is way too crowded inside

what is that below the card?.................is that the SATA.......surely not!

Er... you mean my soundcard?

Thanks for all the input, guys. I've decided to bite the bullet and invest in a new case with watercooling. Not cheap, I know, but it'll certainly overcome the heat and airflow issues.

you dont need watercooling to solve your problems ....... your problems are dead easy to solve......dont spend the additional money you'll need, unless you really need to.

all you need is better layout

Probably true, but a certain level of insanity is necessary to be a computer enthusiast. ;)

yea i know, it's fun building a new pc :D
mines had it anyway, when i play Crysis/Vegas 2 the screen is freezing solid, and i cant get out of it without turning off pc, plus i'm getting the blue screen too........i can only play FEAR..... i think the 8800GT is on its way out, it can handle any strain..... but FEAR is a low stress game, so it's ok.

i'm definitely not buying another card just for a year's gaming..its not been right since i downloaded the latest drivers and i've had to remove the overclocking too....the screen is simply freezing up... making a loud machine gun noise /loosing audio too...it's worst on 1080p...so i'm down to 720p instead

so i wont be gaming much this next year... building a new rig instead......so it has to be a top end rig, so it's got enough power to handle games like crysis

i'm a bit depressed right now, i get fed up with the faults that my pc has ..... i cant understand what the hell is wrong with it, i might build my new pc; send it into a shop and tell them to game with it for a few days to sort out any faults..... i'm ok at building, but pretty crap at solving software problems, it simply bores and frustrated me....... they charge 40 quid to service a pc so that's ok.

because it's bound to have problems when first built..WIN 7 doesn't work...wrong GPU drivers etc etc, wont bloody overclock properly... i can see it right now..it'll take me 3 days to solve glitches but a pc engineer from my shop can fix it in 5 mins....especially the young gamer geeks i know!
