Does anyone have an allergy to alcohol?

Maybe its hayfever and something to do with hops? i used to be the same, much better now i drink spirits.

I can't imagine being allergic to alcohol. There is no worse fate for a guy like me who drinks at least 3 pints every night.

I actually feel worse in the morning if I haven't drunk any alcohol the night before.

my mate gets red blotchy skin all over his body after about 6 or so vodkas, after about 20+ he look like a beetroot!

i have an allergic reaction to certain beers that use nuts products in the brewing. Makes my oesophogus (spelling i know, cold and phone playing games) constrict and the little dangly thing at back of my mouth swells massively.

I am allergic to certain nuts so to be expected. Doesn't bother me when out as only drink guiness or bourbon.

There is some scary research in that page from credible sources that suggests a significant increase of cancer to those who flush and continue drinking.

I've looked into it more and this research seems to be widely accepted and I'm yet to see any conflicting research.
It's made me reconsider drinking until I do more research.

Every time i go out and drink in the evening i wake up the next morning with blocked sinuses and apparently I snore like a absolute bar steward too. And i'm not talking about binge drinking either, just three pints is enough.

Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Cheers.

Could be sensitivity to the yeast in the beer, most of us have fungi's and yeasts in our mucous membranes that can become imbalanced if fed sugars and alcohol reguarly.Maybe the yeast/fungi proliferates after a few beers and causes the blocked sinuses.

Best way to rebalance things is to lay off the sugars and alcohol for a few weeks and generally look after yourself, your immune system can then thrive and get things back in balance.

You realise that it's legal in the same way that bleach is? It doesn't make it sensible to drink though.
GBL is seriously nasty when ingested.

A mate of mine does, his face swells up and his heart goes mad, his throat goes when he drinks. Hes started to build up an immunity now though, keep going and hopefully you will to.

Yes, i also have a problem with alcohol, my skin gets very ichy and red.

People are shocked when i say i have this problem

Alcohol makes me well ill, even small amounts :( Leaves me with the worst hangover the next day that lasts well into the evening.

Turns out I'm classed as a 'poor metaboliser' The enzyme which breaks down alcohol doesn't function properly. This also effects caffine - I can't touch the stuff as it sends me off my head, lol. A can of redbull has me wired all night, even get a comedown off it the next morning:D

Found all this out when I volunteered for drug testing.
