Mission Beach and cops in bright green Commodore's. Also the prices of some stuff, its bizarre, some things are very cheap (Dominos pizza - large pizza in UK = £16.50, large in Aus = never more than £5, £2.50 on cheap Tuesday) but some things very expensive (Can of coke? $2-3 in most places. Chocolate? $2-3 for a regular bar!).
.

Indeed your correct with chocolate and it tastes pants compared to UK stuff its all made in tasmania , something to do with coca to milk ratio. $3 for a CAN! Wher have you been shoping its about that for a 600ml bottle. However pay a extra $1 and you'll get a 1.5 l bottle of pop.

Also meat is a lot cheaper over here , as is petrol , sunscreen and how can you forget Macca's 25 cents ice cream they have to be the bargain of the century.... Only bad thkn is the price of booze basically double the price of the uk :(

Still its a awesome country , i've worked and lived int he tourist area's , outback and far a field suberbs of perth , darwin ,cairns etc and all the people I have met are awesome.

I'm just hoping NZ is half as welcoming ....

Any questions just mail me on [email protected]

Yea but sometimes you just want a can and normally you'll pay dearly although 2 litre bottles are good value at Coles and IGA.

It's 50 cents same price as Hungry Jacks :p

Yes - they cook everything fresh for a start and it just tastes better. Whereas Hungry Jacks is worse than Burger King over here :p

In SA I spent a weekend in Adelaide and a friend of my girlfriends drove us around the city - checked out the race track, Port Adelaide, some of the suburbs and we went to Adelaide Zoo, walked around the city, etc etc. Really liked it, very nice place. Then I picked up my first Falcon and headed out towards Mildura :)

Glad you liked it

Dear god! your went to mildura? I used to do that trip every second weekend for about a year if not more :o

Fox... Could you go over what you did in Melbourne and Sydney? I will be visiting them on either side of my NZ trip, so any ideas would be great!

If you have any codes for Hertz that would be really useful too!

Drove from Adelaide to Hay via Mildura on the Monday and Hay to Bathurst on the Tuesday :)

What did you think of mildura?
Personally i dont like it all that much and have spent crap loads of time there.
If you went to the town center did you see those horrible Zebra Crossings on the entrances to the round abouts? Must be the worst idea for a round about ever!

And how was the hay plane?

Quite possibly the worlds most boring road?:p
