Media Centre Icon suddenly appeared

Was setting up my new laptop last night and setting up my xbox 360 as a media centre extender when a round, green icon appeared in the bottom right hand corner with all my AV, firewall icons etc.

It's labelled Windows Media Center Update and I can't seem to get rid of the darn thing!

I can see through taskmanager that it's taking up very little resources, but it's just bugging me that's all!

Does anyone know if it'll disappear on it's own or how to get rid of it?

I presume it's the the one that updates the EPG. If so it'll disappear soon enough.

Yeah, that's the one. It's currently saying that the media center update log is started.

I haven't got guide listing downloads enabled though.

mine's there all the time

think it came when I installed the TV pack

it's my media centre pc, so doesn't have AV or any other crap on there anyway

just that and slysoft

Same thing happened to me after I installed a TV card in to my HTPC and run the media centre bull carp to use it. It does say it is downloading the latest EPG, not too fussed about it though.
