Guys Im in a bit of a mess (all my own fault).

I forgot to notify my insurance company when I changed to a private plate.
Went to do my road tax online and it came up no insurance.
Rang the insurance company up and they told me they'd do it online and send me a new certificate through the post within 3-5 working days.
This was on Thursday. (Yes I know I left it until last minute but I totally forgot)

Ive tried online again Saturday and today and its still not been updated.

Now heres the problem.... My road tax has expired and my Z4 is sitting on the drive while I use the spare car. I go away on wednesday for 3 weeks. :(

Whats the best thing to do? Is it a pain getting a car declared off the road and getting it registered again? Will this look bad to future owners? I've always associated SORN with something people do with old bangers :p:o

What would you do?

You will be fine, just do it when you get back. I had a 106 untaxed sat on my drive for a few months before I fixed and sold it

Should't be. However last time I did that, it wouldn't allow them to issue me tax. However they can override the computer and issue the tax.

Not sure if it was related or not., But it wasn't a problem other than him asking me about 4 times if I was sure It didn't already have tax, before he override it.

Ok thats cool then, I'll give the postman one more chance tomorrow to turn up with my certificate otherwise I'll SORN it.
It won't affect insurance in anyway will it?
