Top 5 worst PC games ever played!

On no less than 12 occasions, i have attempted to play and enjoy Deus Ex. Each time failing.

Now, i dont know whether there reall is an all abiding system of right and wrong when it comes to game quality (i do know that a thread like this is rarely a good place to start for numbers on the matter) but im 99% certain that its more my fault then theres when it comes to Mr Spectors master opus.

Every time i read an article about the game i feel like ive let something truelly great slip through my fingers. On the flip side of the coin, because of this i will now play any game someone suggests or that i am remotely interested in. I used to be a gaming snob, only really going for AAA titles or something very shiny and pretty. Now thanks to Deus Ex, ill play anything. Because you never know what you might end up enjoying.;)

As soon as I saw SoF2 in the list I stopped reading! One of the greatest online games ever!

i just started playing farcry 2 again after not liking it when i tried the first time and im actually kind of enjoying it now, dont know why it gets bashed so much.

terrible story
terrible controls (no prone)
terribly repetitive
tries to increase game time by making you walk frikkin miles across the land for every mission (even with the buses)
stupid respawning soldiers attacking you constantly.
EVERYONE attacking you, despite the fact you work for both sides, explained away by a flimsy "oh btw no-one knows about you so our own men will attack you)
A.I. feels cheap, can see you from miles away at times.

It's not all bad, just a missed opportunity.

i think he must mean SOF 3
Quite possibly, mind you, haven't played it, just never seen or heard a good review about it yet:D

My five most disappointing games when played : (no order)

Call of Duty 2 - £35 wasted, ok just expected more.
Call of Duty 4 - ok game but for me, soo over rated. (Probably why I like FPS/RPGs more often than not like Stalker.
Farcry 2
Dungeon Lords
Probably GTA4

Just 5?

Fallout 3 - aimless. too much dialogue and too much time spent looting and rearranging backpack

Oblivion - boring

Far cry 2 - obvious

Shadowrun - complete garbage

Blueberry garden - worst thing I bought on steam, lucky it was only £3. note to self, avoid anything branded with the "seamus mcnally" award like the plague.

Blue shift - only bad product with the valve name on. amateur mod at best

CoD4 - most infuriating multiplayer of any game I've played. the rotating respawn points make it so most of your deaths come from getting shot in the back from someone who shouldnt even be there

TF2 - took the speed and skill out of TFC. now it's almost impossible to do anything heroic unless you've got a medic stuck up your ass, and then you'll probably take a random crit and die

Well, I don't know about top 5 worse PC games, but I played Darkfall recently and it was truly a waste of 40 pounds.

It's a game with a grind that never ends.

Even taking into account 'personal opinion' and all that crap, some of the suggestions in this thread are frankly ridiculous. I would only accept these in your worst 5 games list if you had only played 5 games.

It depends what you're listing. Mine was a list of the worst games I've actually played because obviously I'm not going to bother playing games I already know are awful!

Same here, not quite 12 times though (more like 4). The last time I tried it was too late.....it seemed far too dated. On the same subject I couldnt get into System Shock either, or Bioshock.

Personally I enjoy first person shooters and rpg's but I never get on with games that try and mix the two elements together for some reason. I can understand how it appeals to others though.

Not saying these are bad games, just games that I didn't enjoy them although I know plenty of others did, but meh... it's my list.

1/ Halo - played it on XBox and it was pretty good... was majorly disappointed with the PC version as it played terribly and I really was hoping it would be good.

2/ Any of the Sims games - not any of the other games by Maxis only the Sims. I've loved Sim City since I got hooked on Sim City 2000. Playing any of the Sims or the gazillion add-ons, however, is like playing at 'real life'. Where's the fun in that?

3/ Grant Theft Auto: San Andreas - I remember getting the original GTA for free through some website where you'd have to sit through countless adverts to earn enough credits to download the game. It was painful but it was worth it as GTA was simply brilliant, unlike anything I'd ever played before. GTA:SA, however, was over-hyped beyond belief so was destined to fail. I understand it's very popular on consoles, but I think that says more about console players than it does about the game.

4/ Medal of Honour - oooh, a bit controversial... I wanted to like this game and it's sequels because the clan I was in used to play it along with Call of Duty. But after cutting my teeth on CoD and CS1.6 I hated the controls in MoH, and the cartoony graphics used to annoy me. I remember getting frustrated that everyone would just run around leaning from one side to the other whilst shooting, and that you'd die hundreds of times per round. Compared to CoD, this was a horrible game that I just couldn't get into at all.

5/ Battlefield 2 - why did I waste my money buying this game? As mentioned above, I loved (and still love) CoD, and I was kinda hoping that BF2 was going to be something like that but not based on WWII... whenever I played it, however, I'd fall asleep because the pace of the game was so slow, you'd have to run around for hours to try and get into the thick of any action, someone would just call artillery and kill you so you'd have to start over again.... gah, I really hate this game. Maybe it's just that I didn't give it enough time, or was playing the wrong maps / on the wrong servers, I dunno. I traded it in not long after buying it and although I only got about £1.50, it was worth it as I really hate this game.

Mercenaries 2: ran crap, played crap, looked crap.
Red Alert 3: Insult to the series.
Sim city society's: Dumbed down PoS, massive insult to the series.
Bullet candy: such a turd of a game.
The graveyard: serious wtf and why would anyone want to pay 3 € for it is beyond me.

Probably not the worst I've played as I have prolly forgot the worst games, but these are pretty appalling.

You've just named 3 of the best pc games ever released as the worst .

about san andreas said:
was destined to fail
What exactly caused it to fail, it succeeded Both vice and III in every way except perhaps the music. You've failed to name one bad thing about the game yet **** it off & the people who play it.

The story is great, the missions are awesome and have humor and are very varied, you have chars from the previous gta game, you finally have a decent landscape ( not just city crap), you have so many different side missions or activity's, the game is extremely fun in 100 man servers in SA:MP, the MTA:SA races were all hilarious and the race generator was superb, you could practically create a floating world or add to the original world, you have a lot of cars, you have a lot of modability, you can fly planes, drive cars, swim, drive boats, fly a harrier and shoot at cars :D, you have a jetpack, you have bikes, etcetc. I could go on all day about SA in much more detail, but imo it's in the top 5 BEST pc games ever not the worst...

I hated the controls in MoH
Heh, I'm the opposite, I hate CS1.6 and CSS (controls&gameplay) with a passion and love Mohaa controls and leaning all the time :D. I love CoD too though...

Guess you don't like vehicles then ( about BF2)...

Very odd taste in games you have imo but meh if you don't like em you don't like em and who am I to judge :p.

COD4 multiplayer - air strikes? **** off and die in a fire, worst piece of crap i've ever bothered playing, single player wasnt bad though

WoW - what on earth do people like about this game? it's absolute crap

have to agree with GarethDW on battlefield 2, slow crap game play, not at all enjoyable

final fantasys MMO that was out a few years ago, that was just pointless even trying

supreme commander - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Some people are purely here to talk utter rubbish...

If you want to know what a bad game is try these 2 for starters:

Warrior Kings
Devestation

Warrior kings was so bad that you needed to download a save game from someone who had been lucky enough for the game to load new levels, I had to do this as when moving from level 2 to 3 it would crash, as it did with every level after.

Devestation had an Eminem look a like on the front cover (this was when he was first about and very popular) and was a very bad FPS. I once got killed walking up some stairs by a box that I walked in to :(

Other bad games:

The Matrix game
Marine Sharpshooter

If I see a game that is a couple of £'s I buy it, so I have played some real stinkers in my time :D
